Long time reader very first post. Buddy of mine purchases a craps layout from Amazon. Sets it up and calls the the gang. Very cool rig. Portable table top mat. Thick too. Lots of room.

So we play (for fun) but my buddy wants everyone to deal a hand. There are five if us. Everybody shoots and deals a hand he says.

True odds crap game, meaning place bets pay true odds lol. Props also.

He gets the idea from the website which is printed in small text on the layout.

So as I lay in bed later in the evening I pull up the site on my phone and watch some videos on playing craps with others and sure enough this guy that sells the mat is pitching that home games should pay true odds thus anyone can and should take turns dealing .

I have to admit. We did indeed deal to each other last friday night. We didn't gamble. Few beers. We just messed around.

For about three hours lol

Anyone ever try this? It was relatively easy dealing place bets at true odds. Much easier than house edge odds offered in casinos.

If everything is paid true odds it just means you have fewer payoffs to memorize.

Never tried it, probably won't, either.

For a friendly game, a hot streak by a shooter could cost the guy working that roll as the dealer a lot of dough and possibly strain their friendship if he cannot easily cover and pay it off immediately.

Not a problem if the dealer has a lot of money he's willing to part with, but otherwise it could be uncomfortable.

I played so-called "blanket craps" with drinking / smoking buddies at home, where the shooter predetermines the total amount he'll be liable for by throwing that amount it in the center, and the others divvy it up or "fade" it between them.
"What, me worry?"

I've played the game but never dealt it. It was surprisingly easy considering we were drinking. I think we all dealt four times. Couple of us got hammered with some good rolls while dealing.

Dealer doesn't play.

Not too much prop action except hardways. Seemed weird at first paying 6 to 5 instead of 7 to 6. It was pretty easy and fun. We all had a blast.

Were going to do it again Sunday.
