Was at Bellagio and after a 7 on a come out a player asked to pay to keep his Come Bet and odds. (Instead of losing come bet and having odds returned) He paid the odds amount and his original bet with odds was left up. Is this something new? Do other Casinos do this? Is it a good idea to pay to keep it? Thank you.
I'm assuming he could have done this to all his come bets and he did it because he liked that number he was on.

This is called a “put” bet. A casino should want to let this happen because it avoids the +EV (for the player) step of the come out roll for the come bet. A player should not do it for the same reason. Better to enjoy your come bet come out roll.
The race is not always to the swift, nor the battle to the strong; but that is the way to bet.
