I had 2 firsts at the craps table today.
1. I shot a 5 point fire AND had the 6th lit up. I even got to throw 5 times for the 6th before 7 out.

2. During the same roll I received a tip of $150 for my awesome 60 throw roll. Right after he gave it to me is when I lit the 6th which was the 9. I ended up laying his tip against the nine. Since I sevened out I turned his $150 tip into $2xx, Plus got the $250 for the fire. Sad thing was I was actually down on my roll because my working odds on my come bets kept getting knocked down on the come out.

I have only played craps for about 2 years now and this was the first table that I have been at that resembled movie scenes where everyone was hi fiveing and yelling. There were 8 of us at the table and 6 of us had fire bets including the dealers. It was so much fun, if craps was always like that I would be addicted.

(Edit: I split this out of Misc Discussion both because it's a great story, and because I have one to tell from this weekend as well. (No self-interest, right?) lol... I'd like to see people's memorable craps stories here. BBB) (Oh, and since I'm in your post already, GREAT shooting! Congrats!)

So, I haven't decided whether I'll write a TR about my whole week yet or not, but I posted a couple sweet pictures in the Royal and not quite but... threads. Along with a Royal on PGP worth $750, those were some high points of my weekend, but craps, well, heck.

Thurs night I tried my beginner's standard PL+ odds, place 6+8 on a $5 table. They newly offered the ATS, so I went 5-5-5 on that a few rolls until I realized it simply wasn't going to happen. Enjoyed the table, especially a retired AF pilot I was playing next to, but lost $300 pretty quickly and moved on. Passed most of my rolls, the 2 I took were both PSO with no darksiders. I don't like costing other people money. Meh, right?

So Fri night (actually Sat 4am) I'm on a long winning streak, no game can stand before me, won on slots, VP, BJ w/ Kount's sidebet, MS Stud, and PGP, and am leaving the ladies' room and see the craps table with a full crew and no shooters. Hah! I step up and say, Hey, are you guys bored and looking for a shooter or are you happy without a beginner at the table this time of night? They say, no, no, come play. So I buy in for $200.

I put $5 on the PL. The base opposite me says, kind of snarly, "It's a $10 table". I say, oh, sorry, it was $5 last night, and make it $10, one for the dealers on the side. I also bet the ATS 2-1-2. Just as I'm about to throw, this guy runs up to the other end of the tub, makes a $10 PL bet, and 5-5-5 on the ATS. Ok, fine. His money, right? I tried...

So while he's doing that, I ask the base, "So now that I've made a $10 bet, can I place the 6-8 for 6 each, or do they have to be at least 10, too?" "It's a $10 table" with an eyeroll. "Ok, then I want to try come bets, haven't done that before" "It's a $10 table" snidely. "Got it."

So now that I've established we'll never get married, I make my first roll. I decided for this set I would put ace-deuce on top (because I like the backgammon game of acey-deucey) without regard to which faces are on the side and throw low and hard. NOT that I'm a DI, just trying stuff. And so, of course, one of the dice climbs the side and lands on the rail. Idiot confirmed, face a bit red already, I get the same dice, set ace-deuce, throw a hard 4 for the point.

The guy on the other end bets all the hardways and the field every throw. I put up 1x odds on the 4 and $10 on the come. Hard 10. Bet come again. 12 and lose. Bet come again. Easy 8. Then Yo. 3. 2. Hard 6. 5 for the small win, with only the 9 left. Other end, they say, "call your shot" to the guy. Guy puts black on the 9. I throw the 9. ATS!!! ATS!!!! ATS!!! Yahoo!!! Pay the AT to both of us. And roll the 7 without ever making a point or collecting on a come bet, without even repeating a number once. Ridiculous!! What are the odds?

I color up, tip the snide base $50 and say, "Thanks for the service." He gets red. Sweet. The box says, "Hey, where are you going??!!" I said, "Hey, am I ever going to roll better than that in my life? I'm done." One of them, not sure which one, says, "Smart woman." And I go merrily off, swapping high-5's with the other guy (who won about $1250 on me, so maybe that curse is off). What a blast!
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

Terrific stories! Congrats to you both! Folks may complain about the hootin and hollerin, but there is no better action game in the casino.

I missed your story last month somehow. That sounds like a fun 14 minutes. I hate smart ass dealers. You seem to get more of them at craps than any other table. I tip well and I feel I get pretty good service because of it. My first bet always comes with a tip to get the relationship started off well. If I get no mention of the tip then that is my last one.

Since this got started in my name I am going to hijack it with a question. I plan on playing tomorrow and was thinking about dark side play.

1. Does it take more bank roll to play dark. Normally I play 2 or 3 x odds. When playing dark it costs more to make bets so I assume that doubles bank roll requirements, or maybe not since you win twice as much.

2. Would I be a complete idiot to place the 6 and 8 but play don't come? If a 6 rills then I can take bet plus winnings and put them on the odds.

I think most agree it takes somewhat more bankroll, but not double. Maybe 20% more to be comfy.

2. Would I be a complete idiot to place the 6 and 8 but play don't come? If a 6 rills then I can take bet plus winnings and put them on the odds.

A 7-out would win darkside but lose those bets. That sounds like hedging, which means you increase your action and benefit the casino in terms of the variance too

I had the best roll of my life on Crapless Craps, believe it or not. I get the dice, the guy to my left was betting $10-20-10 on the ATS bet, my first roll was a winner 7. The guy replaced his $40 ATS bet and on my next roll I set a point of 2.

I forget the order of numbers I hit, but it was about 25-30 total rolls. There was a rather large crowd gathering near the end of my roll. I never hit my point of 2, but i hit EVERY other number making him a winner on all 3 of his bets. He walked away with a profit of 4.1k in side bet winnings.

When he realized I didnt have any $ bet on it, he did tip me $50 which was unexpected, but much appreciated. I think I only won myself about $75-80 on the roll. (should have been more but i was just learning to play and was still being very cheap at the table) XD
