That is outdated by more than five years. The obsolesce is glaringly demonstrated by the inclusion of the likes of the Sahara and the Stardust. Not to mention quite a few problems with off-the-Strip sites.Quote: rushdlMrV pointed this out earlier. It looked good to me. http://www.nextshooter.com/vegas

what is MSS?
Quote: FIRNATINE160Im sure its been covered on another thread but I'm heading to vegas in March and Just want to know the best places for craps.
Thanks
Best what?
Pass/Don't Pass Odds?
Comps?
Fun Dealers?
Drinks?
Uncrowded tables?
Crowded tables?
My favorite places to play at the moment are The Cromwell and O'Shea's casino.
Highest odds are at Sam's Town and Main Street Station. Joker's Wild Casino in Henderson has 10x odds/$1 minimums.

I second teddys' selections of Cromwell and O'Sheas. They both have a nice energetic vibe to them. And they're close so you can bounce between them.
I'm partial to The Cromwell cause it used to be The Barbary Coast way back when, and I had a few nice wins there... way back when.
Agree with previous posters about Main St. and Sam's. During the a.m., minimums at Sam's are often $3. They seem to only open one table no matter how crowded during the mornings.
Both Sam's and Main St. have generous odds.
I've played at Orleans, where the dealers are generally cool and every once in a while you find an absolutely stunning cocktail server. But while they have low minimums, their odds suck.
It's back!Quote: FIRNATINE160Sorry guys but I don't understand what all the shorthand means when it comes to specific casinos. also, I thought o'sheas was knocked down?
Quote: teddysIt's back!
Yes, O'Shea's reopened a while back inside the Linq, the old Imperial Palace...
Quote: teddysTo parrot Sabre, it depends what you are looking for. High odds? Best crews? Nicest atmosphere? Crowded? Comps? Drink service? Location? Field pays triple on 12?

thought all Horseshoe casinos (ie: Binions) had 100x odds?
How about Casinos Royale. no longer 100x (again)?
and as Teddys said, it depends what you're looking for.
if eyecandy dealers, try Binions party pit. it's right by the door.
girl dealers in skimpy/fun outfits
Quote: wilbsmittThe Horseshoe brand is owned by CET. I think someone independent bought the downtown location from CET and renamed it Binions, hence not associated with CET's Horseshoe and therefore no 100x odds. Casino Royale had 100x odds as of early Dec. 2015
Harrah's bought Binion's Horseshoe downtown. When they sold the casino, the kept the Horseshoe brand and the WSOP.

Binion's is owned by TLC Casino Enterprises, the same company that owns Four Queens.

so Caesars bought the bankrupt Binions Horseshoe casino, kept the Horseshoe and WSOP trademarks, then sold the property?
then littered the USA with Horseshoe branded casinos?
Wonder why they didn't keep the downtown property?
Does CET already have lots of presence on Fremont St?

CET has nothing off-strip this side of Laughlin or Reno/Tahoe.

plus you're selling the place that started WSOP.

They had no apparent interest in the physical property, ever. After selling it to MTR Gaming, who has since merged with El Dorado Resorts, they were under contract to run the gaming side of things for a bit. However, the sale of the physical property to MTR was almost immediate.
We're both non-smokers and would really like a non-smoking casino if there is such a thing in Las Vegas but one that has good air handling and isn't too smoky is alright.
We'd like friendly, capable dealers and generally friendly players at the table. (A kind of casino-equivalent of "Cheers") Knowing its hard to find low minimum tables at night, especially on weekends, we're willing to play midday on weekdays.
Also, we are vacationing with a couple who won't be playing, so somewhere they could enjoy watching or doing something else would be a bonus.
Suggestions?
We're actually staying at a non-casino resort property well off the Strip, so we'll be driving to wherever we play, anyway.
Quote: WahooLowRollerThanks! I have seen other comments endorsing The Linq and Cromwell on the Strip. Do they ever offer low minimum tables? I had understood $10 or $25 minimums are the norm on the Strip.

If your #1 priority is low minimums, and you're driving anyway, then you should head downtown or off-strip. The casinos aren't as nice and flashy and there will be more smoke downtown. But it will be much easier to find $5 tables.
I can't guarantee anything (especially on weekend nights), but if there's a $10 table running at Cromwell or LINQ, you can be assured there is a $5 table somewhere downtown.
I'm not an expert at off-strip casinos though, as I rarely go. Someone else should chime in here.
I suggest go to the Strip for shows, fine dining, shopping, etc., but for gambling, go to the Station casinos and other casinos like Boyd's Sam's Town, near Boulder Station. After all, craps is craps, wherever. BTW, dining at off-Strip casinos is pretty damned good. I had a delicious prime rib stew for $16.95 at South Point, tonight.
South Point is not a Station casino, btw. BTW2: off-Strip craps dealers & personnel very polite and competent, even helpful. Players are not drunks, boistrous college kids, characters, etc. Very civilized. Hope this helps.
Quote: Sonny44I was at South Point Casino this evening (Fri.). Out of 6 tables, 3 were in action w/ $5 mins. The Station casinos all maintain $5 mins. Not knowing where you're staying off-Strip, it's hard to suggest a definite off-strip casino, but from Red Rocks on the west side, to Sunset Station and Boulder Station on the east side, there are plenty off-Strip casinos that maintain $5 min. tables.

NICE! The latest info I had was that they were always 10$ min there, thank you for the update. I like staying away from the hooplah, SP is good enough for me but I prefer 5$ tables so I am happy to hear that.

Beware at South Point: Only 2x odds, which in my mind negates the low minimums and helpful dealers. Decent video poker, though, and a pretty good deli!
Quote: DeMangoSeveral reports of them sweating the money. 2X odds bear that out.
2x odds christ. I wouldn't play 2x odds if it was outside my hotel room in the hallway, to hoof it down to SouthPoint to play it? #woof
Quote: Gabes22Every time I go there, I schedule one day where I can get off of the strip, whether it be to golf, or sightsee.
Hiking at Red Rock is nice too. The loop we did with rudeboyoi and Konbu, that was fun and a good change up from the standing around and drinking/rolling dice/playing cards.
Quote: WahooLowRollerThanks for the helpful suggestions. We're actually staying on the west side almost half way out to Red Rocks (I think. That beautiful casino hotel and resort had not been built when we were last in LV.) The place we're staying is a sister property to one right next door to South Point. We also have stayed at that sister resort and I recall really liking South Point (although it was called something else originally, I think.) We'll take these suggestions into consideration as we plan our gaming.
South Point was originally South Coast, if I remember correctly. Which would have made it a sister property to Suncoast, which is on the west side, in Summerlin, near(ish) the Red Rocks Resort.
I enjoy all the Station casinos, they seem to have the best craps tables overall, as far as odds, types of players at the tables, dealers, etc. I also enjoy the Silverton as well, at lot less crowded in the casinos and less smoke from my experiences.
Agreeing with what others have said, your best deals and penny-pinching will be better the further you are from the Strip.
That is a decent place, however for my money the best table to play on I have
ever seen is the $5 crap less table at Tunica. 12' low, hardly any bounce. Pretty
much like the table at Golden Nugget in Biloxi.
For me the best casino to play at has the best table. SLS is way to bouncy, almost
like "M" which does not have a bad top but the alligator board must be made out
of some type of space rubber.
I like west table at Gold Coast, the table on the south at O'shea's and either table at
the 4 Queens.

Well, if you want to drive half way to California (well, eight miles from the strip) the M Resort has a good reputation for its high volume air exchange and its mediterraneag fig oil droplets that disperse tobacco smells.
Its usually got alot of other things going: food, concerts, booze, etc. going and its craps tables WERE low in the mornings but I have no idea about now.
MSS is loved for its brew pub which is 22 steps from a craps table with good odds. Take your friends upstairs for the food/beer/ and hope someone is playing the piano d espite the sign that says do not touch.

My only problem with MSS is that it gets crowded if you have a group. Several WOV gatherings ago we tried to play there but only 2 of the 3 tables were open and they were packed. Obviously depends on the date and time. They do offer 10x odds which is nice.
Freemont Street casinos had $5 tables Wednesday evening (and I think I even saw one $3 table at the Freemont) but they were fairly crowded, so we went to Main Street Station, which had two $5 tables full to overflowing with players, so we tried the California. It is in the midst of some renovations and the whole place just seemed tired and worn out. The crew was friendly enough but it was obvious they were in training. We played just one brief session there and then returned to Freemont Street. We found space at a $5 table at Golden Gate and managed to do quite well there.
But when we tried to celebrate our modest winnings by enjoying the famous shrimp cocktail special afterward, the coffee shop refused to accommodate my wife's scooter (she's been suffering with severe plantar fasciitis for about a year and has a temporary handicapped parking pass, so we rented a scooter as a mobility aid). We may never return to the Golden Gate, which is sad because we've always enjoyed its nostalgia and really liked the recent upgrades.
We returned to Main Street Station Thursday and thoroughly enjoyed playing two sessions at its $5 tables. What a beautiful place to play! The 7-7-7 brew pub was an absolute delight, as well, and we enjoyed both lunch and a late afternoon break to watch the ACC men's basketball tournament game. Can't say enough good things about MSS even though I agree with the previous comment about it getting quite crowded at night.
All in all, a reminder that the best times and places to find low minimum craps tables that aren't overcrowded is mid-day on weekdays at casinos off the Strip and even off Freemont Street downtown. Overall, we had a good run of luck in seven sessions, ending up about $625 total (even net of some fairly generous tipping, compared with other players we observed.)
(*As a money-management technique, my wife and I play $200 each, placing alternate minimum Pass/Come bets backed with $10 odds, with winnings being set aside and bets being replaced until we've each run through our original stakes; that's a "session" for us and being "up" or "down" depends on whether our winnings are more or less than our original $200 stakes.)
Quote: WahooLowRollerWahooLowRoller report from very limited sampling, LV 03/07/16 to 03/11/16: Sam's Town had two tables open with $5 minimums posted mid-day on Monday, but the pit boss told me the signs just hadn't been changed after NASCAR was in town the prior weekend; $3 minimums were advertised and offered upon request at those two tables. One table stayed at $5 minimum Monday afternoon. We played two sessions* at $3 minimum and one at $5.

Good report. How much odds do you generally take? I think we ended up at the California at a WOV gathering a while ago, and we were rather disappointed at the 2x odds available. It may have been the Fremont though.
