Maximizing a hot roll?

I have a full understanding that the casino has the edge. Not looking for any guaranteed wins.
Goal: What are some people's being strategies to maximize a hot roll.
My current strategy has done OK during some hot rolls but I have only doubled my money during hot rolls.
Play the pass line, 3x odds, place 6 and 8, press six and 8 wins, place 5 and 9 at 2 units, take all 5 and 9 wins, throw done an occasional (stupid) hard ways bet at 2 units.

Start pushing at slower rather than 100% - e.g. [UK] (6&8) £3, £6, £9, £15... (4&10) £3 £5 £10 £15... repeat using 5's. Alternatively start with £3 on 6 and/or 8, then place the others, then start pushing as above.
