A simpler version of craps ... your opinion

I need your opinion ...

So ... I am working on inventing a new dice game that is similar to casino craps,
and it will include some of the standard craps bets,
but want it to be simpler to help with acceptance to new players.

I will post the game here soon to get opinions about it.
(the preliminary version is in the patent search process right now).

If you were starting with my list of the possible bets to eliminate to
make my new game simpler ...

Which would you eliminate ?

A simple version: two light bulbs, one says- you lost, second goes on- you won.

Three Dice Football didn't really take off, and if that didn't I have trouble seeing another craps variant be successful.

The little bit that I know about Three Dice Football is that it can seem a bit confusing,
which is the whole reason I want to get peoples opinions regarding what makes
craps simpler, yet is still fun to play.

I hope to prove you wrong about craps variants - that they can be successful - with the game I am working on,
and I have three more to follow that are 50% done.

I think craps variants will be the next big thing coming to the gaming scene.

Time will tell.

If you take out enough bets, you're gonna be left with something similar to Crapless Craps. And that hasn't really set things on fire.

You may want to be aware there have been several simplified Craps in the UK - one is Dice Magic (see http://www.ukcasinotablegames.info/dicemagic.html ) and there was another which only has Pass (no Don't nor Odds), place bets and a few others. All the tables I know of have gone now - but there may be one still lurking somewhere.

There is also a one-roll version in the Netherlands (place - win or lose at appropriate odds - end of).

I like the idea. but you might want to come up with maybe like one new bet just to give it something so that it stands out from regular craps

Replace the Big-6/Big-8 with 6-7-8... pay 3/2 on the 7 1/1 on the 6/8.

I once suggested a game called "basic craps" which needed one dealer. Players could bet pass or don't pass with or without odds. And that's all.

You could easily add the Fire Bet for extra revenue.

I don't know if anybody ever considered this, but it's possible that the game of craps would not be fun if it were simpler.

Crapless is simpler. The most complicated thing people run into playing crapless craps is realizing that they aren't playing regular craps.

They usually realize after they get confused what's happening.

When one plays only pass line and odds (or don't pass and odds), the hit rate tends to be too small. That's one reason I place 6 & 8 and make up to two come bets with odds. And I wouldn't be surprised if the people who place every number, plus a horn or any craps, do so also to increase the hit rate (even if not their bankroll).
