Thanks and sorry in advance for the fact that thus question PROBABLY exists somewhere in this forum already. I just can't find it!
All these books and "pro" gamblers tell you to make come bets.
The math is there but you would be better off to just place or buy bet because you get that extra option to turn them off or take them down.
Come bet is a contract bet that must be resolved.
Do you like being under contracts?
I DON'T. I don't even play the pass line till the shooter hits 3 points which is rare.
Just an opinion man,I have lost a lot of money with "the best possible craps bets"

Interesting.Quote: brajgregWhat happens to your come bet and the odds with it?
Why the question?
What do YOU think should happen to a $10 come bet ON the 5 with $20 odds when a 12 rolls?
This could be your dice roll sequence
New game started
Beginning bankroll: $300
------New shooter coming out----------
$10 bet on Pass Line
Roll #1: 4 (3.1)
Point established
$20 bet on Pass Line Odds
$10 bet on Come
Roll #2: 5 (3.2)
$10 Come bet moved to Come 5
$10 bet on Come 5
$20 bet on Come 5 Odds
Roll #3: 4 (3.1)
Pass (point rolled)
Pass Line bet won $10
Pass Line Odds bet won $40
Bankroll increased to $350 ($50 gain)
Pass Line Odds bet removed
Roll #4: 12 (6.6)
Miss (craps natural)
Pass Line bet lost $10
Bankroll decreased to $340 ($10 loss)
Why do you say "ALL"Quote: KB1Hey man,
All these books and "pro" gamblers tell you to make come bets.
not all say that.
don't come bets are still in style with many and are believed to be the best bets to make by many, not all..
better off for feeling good is a good thing.Quote: KB1The math is there but you would be better off to

Come bet is a contract bet that must be resolved.
a place bet or Buy bet has exactly the same probability of winning as does the same come bet number with odds.
I bet you know exactly when to call off your place bets or make them as that matters to bankroll growth.
This is excellent info.
I have won a lot of money with "the best possible craps bets" both pass and don't pass with odds for over 30 years of play.Quote: KB1Just an opinion man,

And I sleep better at night for it.
Love unsolicited advise
Shooter Crapped out with a 12 on the come out roll.Quote: brajgregSo the dice go to the next person and the come bet stays for the next shooter?
Shooter could pass the dice to the next shooter if he wishes, but he still has control of them if he wants to roll the next come out roll.
Did you think the shooter lost the dice because of rolling a 12?
where would that come from?
Quote: brajgregSo the dice go to the next person and the come bet stays for the next shooter?
No the dice don't get passed to the next person. The shooter rolled craps as long as he places another bet on the pass or don't pass line he can continue to roll. The dice go to the next person when you seven out - roll a seven when you have a point established.
In your example with the 12 being rolled the pass line bet would be lost. The shooter would place a new pass line bet and continue to roll. It happens all the time and it doesn't matter if it's a 2, 3, or 12 that's rolled.
So you'd rather risk more money just to have that "extra" option (which doesn't even help you win)?Quote: KB1The math is there but you would be better off to just place or buy bet because you get that extra option to turn them off or take them down.
...and I bet you've lost even more by no longer playing "the best possible craps bets".Quote: KB1I have lost a lot of money with "the best possible craps bets"

alternatively, Wincraps is free too. If you intend to really "get into it" this is the way to go, for $15 you can upgrade and get really complicated ideas simulated.

Quote: JoeyCrapsone way to prevent losing your 10$ on the come out rolls is to bet a crap check to protect the pass line bet
Prevent losing $10 on the PL by making an even worse bet? No thanks.
