Playing Don't yet Placing the 6 + 8?

if i'm playing Darkside, I do one large Don't Pass bet, say $25dont/150odds. (I win ~$125 if a 7.)

but lately I get bored waiting for that 7.
What do you guys think of Placing the 6 + 8 for $24 each?

or even better:
Place 6 + 8 for $24 each
Buy the 5 for $25
$25 on Field

I make $ on any roll that isn't the point.

I do that sometimes. Unfortunately, it seems like there's always a quick 7-out. lol

I think the 7 will show up!

Don't play field.The idea is to bet max odds, but betting 100 is not easy. As the roll progresses I add odds gradually until I reach max. When variance turns your way you want to make the most.

Your strategy wastes your time hedging.

If bored with Darkside, I try to build up unresolved numbers. You'll note sometimes you can't get it done.

can't get it done the good way: the 7-out keeps coming!

can't get it done the bad way: 7-11 winners [dark losers] and the numbers you do build keep getting picked off one by one

My typical session consists of going back and forth between winning and loosing. If I am a bit ahead I increase odds, if somehow I hit the point with max odds that would constitue the win, the loot which goes into my pocket. I start all over again, couple places, single odds and so on.

I not a fan of hedging, but I'll entertain myself every now and then.

It depends on your what you plan to do with that 6 & 8... How many times do plan to press it?

I've dabbled with both if these over the years, for the same reason...playing the dark side was boring. But I no longer use either. It can work, like any strategy. But most of the time it was a slow frustrating negative grind. Quick 7 outs and points made without any other numbers hit will destroy this strategy and they both happen more than it seems like they should.

To use a chess analogy, you have got the 5,6 &8 checkmated, with your field bet. Even when they hit you receive next to nothing. So those 3 bets you have 74 at risk that can't pay you. If you have to waste money on the one roll bets just throw a buck or two out at the prop bets, although poor bets at least you can collect when the 5,6 &8 hit.

I would say that the casino really, really likes that you get bored and want to increase your action with less-favorable -ev bets than you're already playing. :)

I would not do his Buy The Five for 25 or his Twenty-Five in the Field, but I often find myself with a bet on the DontPass Line and yet a Place Bet on the 6 and 8.

My reasoning is: Most rolls are about six to eight rolls before a decision is made. Its more likely the shooter will Seven Out than anything else. Yet, if he does roll some numbers at least my money is riding on the two numbers he is most likely to roll.

So while I have no illusions about these bets being guaranteed money makers or anything like that, I'm happy that I'm going with the most likely choices rather than doing Center Bets or some ridiculous bet such as that.

I do NOT feel that this is some sort of hedge that dilutes my bet's value.
It could be Point/SevenOut, but somehow I'm "aiming" for a reasonable amount of numbers to be rolled before that and the particular numbers that might be rolled are once again a reasonable selection, the most favored: six and eight.

Don't get bored winning! If anything play the 6 + 8 for 60 ea and once it hits take your orig bet and winnings off and wait for the 7! That's it.
