Why you guys are still bringing the subject up is the real question.

Because it wasn't closed just because you gave your
opinion of it, you and the Masked King. Frank has
been around dice for decades, you've been at it a
couple years.

Harley did not just claim dice were bias. He claimed they were knowingly switched in and out of a game allowing the house to "fix" the game based on how they wanted certain numbers to hit. That is what I have said from the beginning is ridiculous. He claimed the house tracked the dice to know exactly what number the die(dice) were more likely to show. Harley named Casinos that he said did this.

Can a die wear out and possibly show a thousandth of a percentage different than a brand new one.. maybe. Is any U.S. Casino switching biased dice in and out to cheat players... NO WAY. I said it before Frank got here and I'll continue to say it until someone PROVES otherwise. Otherwise it's slander in my book.

No Harley didn't say that go back and reread what he wrote, he said the casinos are now using cheap dice that aren't balanced!

If i recall both Harley and Ahigh said that there was some sort of procedure for introducing biased dice when the table dumped too many chips. Ahigh even mentioned a casino by name. Harley on his website has been alleging for a long time that all casino dice are biased because pips don't melt. It would be interesting for these gentlemen to state their case again. Perhaps they want to change it now?

That's not at all what he said. He said that the casinos were intentionally switching in biased dice at certain times according to a plan:
Quote: Harley

This is a good question (for someone "that does not understand how casinos work" ) .... Depends on the casino, but usually Table Games Supervisor or Security controls which dice are carried to the craps pit ... the Boxman is just a simple conduit doing as he is told by those above him .... Boxman usually receives a call from "above" as to which dice are to be played on which table (for example Sam's Town, Golden Nugget, etc.) or they follow a very strict game plan book (ie, Bellagio, Rampart, etc.)

Quote: me

Just so we're clear, you are alleging a widespread conspiracy that several (if not many) casinos are committing ongoing felonious fraudulent acts in dice games. What you describe is a blatant violation of several sections of NRS 465.

I began to respond, but in all honesty, the processing of your post completely shut down my brain. That's not your fault, I just lacked a proper way to address it. But I've let it marinate a few hours now, so here goes...

My first memory of you is you coming here and claiming you were the Master of Craps. No one in the world knew as much as you. Soon after, you began this quest for knowledge in this DI game.

You had my attention. Braggadocio aside, you certainly had the passion, the knowledge, and the equipment to do everything you said you would, and everything required from a math and science standpoint to make it a reality. I was hooked, and I know many others were as well.

Of course, you had your detractors. For reasons I didn't understand, the ferocious energy you had for Craps began to leak out and go in their direction. There was about, what, 5 people really griping your ass? But then again, you had a good 4 or 5 people on your side, and countless other lurkers on who were following your moves. It reminded me a lot of 98steps, whose Craps system drew a ton of heat, a lot of sour comments, but he kept his head down and carried on. I expected you to follow suit. But for some reason, comments from the peanut gallery completely shook you.

Within weeks, it had devolved from a serious Craps excersize to little more than a non-stop pissing match, with every single barb having to be answered for and challenged. It became a joke.

None of it; not the cancellation of your TV show, the shut down of the experiment, or this new smarmy, sarcastic version of Ahigh is anyone's fault but yours. Quite frankly, I don't understand a single bit of it. The Ahigh that caught my attention; the determined, curious, information seeking version I first knew, is completely gone. All we're left with is a guy that posts 100% sarcasm in every Craps thread there is.

If you still had that passion for the quest for knowledge you came here with, you'd still have it. 5 or 6 smartasses on the internet is going to change that? Pfft, c'mon bud. You don't owe us jack. We don't owe you jack. But to somehow imply or even honestly think that it is somehow the people of this board that stopped your quest for knowledge, well, that's a thought I literally cannot comprehend.

When people make grandiose claims here, 9 times out of 10 they will get challenged (the other 1 is ignored). The people who are honest and true weather the storm, gain respect and consideration by doing so, and they carry on. 98steps is a perfect example. He was wrong, but he completed his journey to knowledge, and did so, I think, in good standing with all here. It was long, at times tense, wasn't always pretty, but damnit, it got done, and plenty of people learned a shit ton of things about the game of Craps.

If you really are interested in what you claimed from the beginning, then the only thing stopping you is you. The same 5ish people will rag you, the same 5ish people will have your back, and the same handfuls of lurkers will lurk on in interest. But listen to me, Ahigh; you have the equipment and the passion to make your mark on the Craps world. And not some piss poor blurb in some lost article, but the biggest most definitive Craps experiment ever created. If not for allowing yourself to be distracted, you might already be there. And probably the saddest part of all, I don't see how you could fail. Even if you prove yourself wrong, Jesus Christ man, even if you prove it still inconclusive, the amount of information you could put out could last hundreds of years, the same as people still talk about Thorpe and will still talk about Thorpe for all these years and years to come. The fact that you blame a handful of poo-poo'ers for preventing you from continuing... I have to pretend it's a joke. Because if it's true, I find it crushingly sad.

"The saddest thing in the world is wasted talent" - Lorenzo Anello (Robert DeNiro) "A Bronx Tale"

I know I missed several weeks and I'm seriously bummed I wasn't here for Mr. Scoblete's active participation in the forum. But anyway, I'm catching up on it. Apologies the Wiz and the various mods for my various necro-posts and adding to more DI threads that were apparently dead.

But I just had to comment on this post from Face. It is an amazing post - I can't believe no one replied to it! This is exactly how I feel, to a T, about the last several months of DI bickering on this board.

Face, I think our brains work in a very similar way - would love to meet you over a beer or 6; hopefully some trips to Vegas will overlap someday in the future.

That was a great post and thanks for lifting it back up from necro land.

I get bummed frequently by some of the people who hate on me.

It's absolutely my fault for letting these folks get to me.

My main drive and motivation is to document what I am doing and have the credibility necessary to have a chance to demonstrate what can and cannot be done.

If it cannot be done, I'm okay with that. Lord knows my friends, family, and coworkers would be happy with me just having more time for work, family, and just overall free time.

But I set out to do this because I wanted to be the first to undertake the project. I'm not giving up.

I do need and appreciate help from everyone. Including dealing with some of the people who post up stuff that sucks my time away.

I have to spend less time on these boards.

I have to spend more time at my regular job too as that's my #1 priority money-wise (not playing craps).

And I now have a wife with two kids that I am responsible for. I have to look out for them too.

But I am trying to juggle everything without any issues.

My hope is that the time and effort I have put in pays off, but so far it just hasn't.

But I haven't given up. I really do hope that some people realize that a big part of my passion is to be the first to document what I am doing.

I have absolutely had big losing sessions not due to attempts at AP play. Just bold betting randomly. In some cases tempting fate!!

My more recent play has been a more orchestrated effort to exploit my theoretical bias and it is going fantastically.

But it hasn't even really been a week of that now, but it's going great.

If my play in casinos continues to go so well, I may be able to slowly increase my bet denominations and have some serious progress.

Right now a major thing I'm trying to figure out is what to do with a bunch of cash.

My boss asked me today what problem I would like to have, and I answered, "I wish I had so much cash I couldn't come up with ideas for what to do with it."

That's a problem that is forming and I want to be more of a problem as I go along.

If it weren't for people accusing me of bragging, I would like to document my amassing of a large bankroll.

Instead, though, I will probably continue posting trip reports with as many names of dealers and people and places as possible to verify the authenticity of my stories.

I'm a little tired of shooting from my home and I am concentrating more on shooting in the casino.

But I'm not recording rolls in the casino nor do I plan on it.

It'd be great to have a full-time partner who was dedicated to trailing and recording my rolls.

I don't think that's "in the cards" though.

Sorry for rambling, and thanks for the support guys.

Are you a licensed therapist then? If not, you might want to look into your own personality disorders before making public diagnoses on internet forums without the necessary professional qualifications.

I'm not saying your public diagnoses is against the law, but if you're not licensed, nobody asked for your amateur opinion!

Here's the problem with the charge of narcissism. The term has been misused and overused so flagrantly that it's now all but meaningless when it comes to labeling truly destructive tendencies. These days, you can be called a narcissist merely by having self-esteem and showing a little ambition — in other words, for trying to survive in the world. In fact, so fluid has the definition become that narcissism's true home for the last 44 years, the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, has dropped the diagnosis from its roster.

I am amazed how DG keeps going for the same diagnosis...

Dude ya'll ran his ass off!! LOLz... He might actually answer, but his answer is already known to be "yes it is."

He may have stopped posting because he thought proving it to be possible not to be a good thing. I disagree with that view. I think that proving it's possible will increase popularity of the game not decrease it. And revenues along with it.

http://forum.goodshooter.com/topic226.html

My view is that the game is more fun for believing it whether it's true or not!

Proving it's true will just help more people enjoy the game and hope they can do it whether they can or not, the game's more fun if you think you've got the edge, whether you're right or not doesn't even matter I think for most folks.

If it's possible, any AP craps player just needs to not get too greedy taking too much money at once and there's plenty of excess to enjoy from the people making higher edge bets with no hope of winning in the long run.

Whats funny is, some people act like this is a new
concept and its an old old one. But because we
have great new technology, we pretend we can
beat the dice with a slo-mo shot of them hitting
the wall.

I see the same thing on roulette boards. Certified
geniuses have been trying to beat roulette for 200
years. But because we can now do things with a
computer that took those old guys years, we figure
we can beat roulette.

But they fail to see that all they're doing is reaching
the same conclusions that the old guys reached, only
in record time. Just like Ahigh is reaching the same
brick wall others have reached, only he did it on his
own. Same wall though...

We all portray the world in our own little way, don't we bob?

The thing you fail to recognize is that even you could improve with effort. Life is not permanently limited as your portray.

Keep trying and maybe you too could break from your limitations.

Bob went back to April 6, you only went back to April 11.

So yeah, overall he tops you, but for the month of April it's ALL AHIGH, ALL THE TIME!

But you already knew that ...
