Entirely up to the Wizard if he wants to run card counting studies on the distribution of EV for each side bet. I'm betting he doesn't.

That bet would be an easy winner. My blackjack appendix 8 already covers about 40 side bets. I'm not going to analyze each one of them by penetration or true count. For the recreational gambler, I think my figures are fine. Even many blackjack writers quote the house edge as just the first hand after the shuffle, like Schlesinger.
Quote: buzzpaffWell then I guess I can forget about asking what the HE is on a Field of Gold side bet in an 8 deck shoe, with 111 cards already played, a true count of -2.66, and a side count of Aces at a -6. Plus the dealers wears size 11 shoes. DAMN !
:) I have a bunch of the same side bets listed in google docs. You can edit the deck composition and see what the house edge is. I haven't done Field of Gold yet, but might do that next.

I saw Shortie Blackjack at WinnaVegas Casino, Sloan, Iowa. They play 6 decks. Check out the information on eTable Games. Do you want to do an analysis? May be a TC will show this side bet is beatable :-)

It might be beatable, but then you'd have to drive to Sloan Iowa to play it... ever been to Sloan? There's NOTHING there.
I have many fond memories of being underage and gambling with my grandmother at that casino. The dealers are quite friendly and keep their own tips, which is nice (or they did). But Sloan is a horrible town with very little around it.
