Great website!
In the basic strategy, single-deck, it says to surrender a pair of 7s against a 10 or Ace. Yet, any other 2-card combination that totals 14, it says Hit against a 10 or Ace
Why is a 7,7 special compared to a 6,8 etc. or is it a typo on the strategy chart in one of the rows ? (14 or 7,7)
It's the first chart on this page:

It is not a typo. 7,7 is special because the players have a reduced probability of getting 21 upon hitting 14 because of the shortage of 7's in the remaining cards. By the way, I would surrender other 14's vs 10 or A in single deck Superfun 21 if I saw two or more 7's on the table.
