Last nite at Mohegansun while playing bj the following occurred. Dealer had 7 showing 1st player had 16. Previously he had hit all his stiff hands. Before the dealer received his hit or stay response I moved a doubledown bet on my 11 to betting area. She proceeded to give me a 2. At that point the other player objects that he did not give a signal. Pit boss was called over and game was stopped. They checked the tapes which was remarkably quick. He was skipped. The only option given to us was to back out of the hands. I would have preferred to get the next card and take my chances, but was told no backing up cards. I may have a selective memory but I seem to remember on a similiar occasion I got that option. Does anyone have any similiar experiences? BTW the next card was a ten.

I highly doubt that the cards were backed up. Mohegan Sun is extremely strict on this and it is not at the discretion of the pit boss. Had the player waved off a card and was given one, that would be the next card to be played.
Was this in the high limit room? I doubt that they really checked the tape. As long as it is something within reason, they'll side with the players. They're pretty good about that and it's better EV for them than stopping the game.

It was in the Asian pit $50 tables. I watched the pit boss the entire time, he was on the phone. From your previous posts it look like you frequent MS, why are you so sure they didn't look at tapes?

You said it was remarkably quick when in reality it can take some time to have tapes reviewed. Mohegan Sun has a habit of threatening to check the tapes just to get the players' reactions.
If you're playing $50 tables and are looking for better penetration try Foxwoods. The Newport Room has $50 tables that are 6 deck S17 with a one deck cut for about 82% pen. There's no mid-shoe entry and there can be some heat, but with these rules you won't need a ridiculous spread. The comps seem to be a little better as well.
I'm no cheerleader for Foxwoods, but I want to point out that in this case there is not only 1 choice.
Glad to see you posting again.

Thank you for the info. It becomes difficult to switch casinos when you are established at one. I will keep your suggestion in mind. And thanks for the welcome back! I was always"lurking" in the background. There are two many extremely knowledgeable posters that I enjoy reading starting with yourself that I could not stay away.
Best Regards.
