I thought the Blackjack was 6/5 at PH? Are you talking about a few tables at higher limits?
I agree with the choice regarding the atmosphere and girls though. A fun place in general.

Yeah I hate to break your love of PH's Party Pit, but it's entirely now 6:5. In fact, I don't think there's a party pit out there that doesn't have 6:5... ahh wait, Riviera has 7:5.
Quote: teddysI vote for Bally's.
Actually, Bally's does have Ultimate Texas Hold Em with the <%1 house edge on the Trips bet paytable. The dealers are good, although supposedly the guy who ran it is now over at PH.

The guy runs Ballys, Planet Hollywood and Paris.

According to the dealer I talked to last Friday evening, she said he's at PH full-time now. She said it's just not the same without him. I never met the guy, but was prompted to ask why a party pit would be named Jarrod.
I also wondered who Jarrod was. Did you meet the gothic/burlesque lady pitboss?Quote: TiltpoulAccording to the dealer I talked to last Friday evening, she said he's at PH full-time now. I guess I stand corrected then. It was 3-2 before Harrah's took over. Oh well. I'm not sure it counts as a "party pit" but there is a pit by the sports book at the Golden Nugget with all attractive female dealers that I believe is 3-2 on some games. Am I wrong?

She was there, but I did not have a chance to meet her. I think she was leaving about the time I was getting in. She had to stay late since they had dealt a Royal on Ultimate an hour or two before I got there.
I had a pit boss (or maybe a dealer) tell me that the "Party Pits" can't be added fast enough. It gives the house a reason to add horrible rules and hire younger girls to deal. Eventually, Blackjacks will be paid even money and some Mardi Gras beads.

That's the best case scenario, gambling-wise. Worst case is Blackjacks will require paying the house even money. You know, the price for men to stare at the young "dealers."

When I came back out to Vegas last year in February, I was shocked to see the Party Pits all over with 6:5, until I realized that most of the Harrah's properties had MOST tables at 6:5, single-deck or not. I was there during Chinese New Year, so many pits were decked out in Asian themes, and I'm surprised that there's not more of that year-round. This summer, there were a few pits (Bellagio, Paris come to mind) with an "Asian" focus, but in the Midwest, Asian rooms are now part of the mix. I guess they've been that way for a while in AC.
Party pits kind of died in the Midwest. A few casinos tried them, mostly on the weekends, and they never really gained any traction. Then again, 6:5 BJ also died on the vine too... so at least something good came out of all that. Personally, I don't like playing in a party pit, but when i do, I try to get into the spirit. I did make an exception for Bally's since they have the good UTH game in the party pit.
