Hello,My name is Ricardo.I am wondering why nobody has mentioned the simple fact that if you sit in the first base seat, you can time first card 10's,ride the odds for the second card without betting too much and using a miniture nightingale system to recover the elevated bets on your tries that you lose.I have over twenty years of blackjack experience at places around the country and this system works well for me.Im not going to walk out with $2000 very often, but im not going to lose it either.

Let's start at the beginning. If the cards in the shoe are randomized, how can you time first card 10s sitting at first base? Why is first base better for this than any other position in the table?

Do not question Ricardo. This man is an expert BJ player, from whom, we can all get a lot of knowledge. I'm sure that the Wizard will be posting his system on Wizard of Odds and we'll be shutting down casinos across the country.

If you sit in Third base, you have to make your bet BEFORE they start dealing and you know... its the same way for EVERY seat including First base. Now if you like that first card, you may win the bet. If you don't like that first card, you may still win the bet. Been that way for 20 years too.
Now I think you got that guy who used to run around his casino saying "double up to catch up" confused with a bird that sings in the night rather than the day.
So if you are that confused, I think you don't know what you are talking about.

The miniature "Nightingale" system? One can only speculate if it's related to the Martingale system.

I'm actually laughing out lout reading that. I just caught that.

Clearly the "Nightingale" system is a much better system. I believe it has something to do with only betting on nights where the birds are singing. This causes the 10s to realign in the deck if you sit FIRST base, thus producing more wins on the Lucky Ladies.

I wonder if that gets more Queens of Hearts WITH the BJs or just the two Queens of Hearts. Wizard, can you help us with this one?

Maybe it's the Nightingale system because it attempts to nurse your bankroll back to health after the foolishly placed LL bets have injured you?

It's kind of vaguely interesting in that I had forgotten that there are actually two types of martingale. For the benefit of anyone who wasn't hanging around Monte Carlo 120 years ago (I know I sure was), that would be the Petit Martingale, where you simply double after a loss (1,2,4,8,16,...), and the Grand Martingale, that goes 1,3,7,15,31,63,.... The benefit of the latter is that you hit the table limit and feel like a fool sooner.

Why hasnt anybody challenged the book??

I think people challenge it every day - every time they consult a basic strategy card, and then do the opposite!

Remember, DJ, that Ricardo isn't needing to use the book. He gets so many 20s, and those are easy to know what to do... SPLIT THOSE TENS!!

Buzz, you are actually mistaken on that. Under the "Nightingale" system, you only track 10s in first base. You're thinking of the "Reverse Nightingale" where you track Aces and 8s. It's a bit more risky in the short term, but in the long run you'll come out WAY farther ahead. (You'll WIN 2000 dollars, but you could lose that too). The regular "Nightingale" system you won't ever lose nearly that much.

I'm not sure, but I think it has to do with the splits...

Thanks for straightening me out. That explains why I lost last time out. And I thought the dealer was dealing me seconds. Silly
me. I probably should not have slashed his tires that night.

I just checked on Wikipedia. The "Reverse Nightingale" was actually derived from the Kama Sutra. Its origins are unknown as to how it developed into a successful winning gambling system, but they say that performing this particular act precisely 27 minutes before making your initial buy-in at the table will result in a lot of wins.

Personally, I like the Wink Martindale method for Blackjack. You always have a chance of winning... (drum roll please).. A BRAND NEW CAR!!!

The whole thing is actually pretty simple. What you need to do is, learn predict the cards that are coming out of the shoe. All you need is some practice. Once you have that down pat, the rest is easy, I don't think I have to draw a map from there. The better you get at it, the further in advance you can see, and eventually you will know when the dealer is going to get blackjack, and you can excuse yourself from that hand.

From there, it is only a short jump to craps, and roulette, and the Big 6 wheel. And total casino mastery is yours!

Working with a friend you can really make a lot more money on that system. That's what friends are for, right?

And if Dionne Warwick was one of your friends, well that's what Psychic Friends are for!

(I can't take credit for that. That was my favorite blurb from Pop-up Video on VH1)

Once you realize that excusing yourself from that one hand is what gave the dealer a blackjack in the first place, you'll want to play every hand from then on, knowing that by doing so, you're preventing every dealer blackjack from occurring ever again. Then, knowing this fact, you'd of course ramp up from green play to black and beyond.

And I think he may have guest hosted an episode of Card Sharks too. He did host the game show "Debt" where people could bet their debt. Of course, using ANY of the systems mentioned here would NOT put you in Debt...

Has anyone else noticed that the original poster (Ricardo) has not replied to any of the subsequent posts?
This thread is all very amusing - and yes, the nightingale's song has been interpreted as a lament for centuries! - but maybe Ricardo wasn't a troll, and just wanted some advice.

So, Ricardo - what exactly do you mean by "timing first tens"?

I've been in Vegas (will post a trip report at some point), so I haven't responded at all. However, Ricardo also posted a thing about Gold Strike in Tunica where he was praising them for the Lucky Ladies bet and that he's won a ton on it. No doubt that he has, but that side bet is a 20%+ house edge. Plus, he joined that day and started two new threads.

I'm all for helping new people learn... except when they don't take the time to do some research and realize they make NO SENSE!

Considering his post was written and punctuated like a spam email from an African orphan, heir to the throne of Zimunda, he may not be able to get back to his computer for a couple of weeks -- or ever. Bender for sure... the guy has made tons on the Lucky Ladies, and if he found the Voodoo table at Gold Strike (I hesitated to say anything about it since I wanted the profits all to myself), then I'd be surprised if we ever heard from him again... except when he opens his new casino.
