The promotion was kind of complicated and consisted of four parts. The first part was a suited blackjack in hearts paid 2-1 (double). Second part, a King and Queen in hearts would earn you a free $25 bingo pack. Third part, a pair of tens, jacks, queens, or kings in hearts would get you a $10 for $20 blackjack coupon. Fourth part, was if your first two cards were hearts you would get a $5 blackjack match play coupon. The betting limits at this casino are $5 to $100 and rules are h17, d10&11, resplit to 3 hands, and double after split on 10 and 11 only for the double deck game. The six deck games has rules of h17, double on anything, double after split, resplit to three hands, no surrender. Also which game would you play? (2 deck or 6 deck).
Suited hearts for $5 match play is worth 3.1%, assuming those match plays can be churned into $2.50 a piece.
BJ in hearts adds about .15%.
KQ of hearts adds about .4% assuming the bingo pack is worth the full $25 (adjust accordingly).
Pairs TT JJ QQ KK in hearts add almost nothing, plus you have to play until you get a snapper and you have to bet $10.
Sum it all up, and you get a player edge of around 2.65%, $5 betting restriction. At 60 hands per hour, you are looking making $8 per hour on average. As you said, nothing to get excited about.
Don't post about promotions unless you also post where and when they will be held. My take is that if you want to benefit from advice from the membership, you should be willing to share any good opportunities that come your way.
It would be ok to post about lapsed promotions only when you found them after they ended.

Wasn't in Colorado.
Quote: gofaster87Whether he shares the info or not is his business. I didn't realize this forum was for people too lazy to scout themselves. In the VP world people have to bust their asses to find a good promo. When its outed it usually gets canceled, so why would anyone give it away?
I posted my reasons behind the suggestion. It's fine if you disagree, and I appreciate that you also posted your rasons. But there's really no need to take that tone.
Quote: gofaster87There was no tone. From what I notice in other posts you're a little sensitive. That your problem not mine. Please dont start calling me RS or JL or flagging my posts because your feelings were hurt or we will have a real problem.
Indeed?

You don't think that was agressive?
As for being too sensitive, all I did was express an opinion about your tone. I did not flame you, flag you or call you names. I idnd't even reply in kind and say the forum's not for people too lazy to figure out a promotion. So who's being too sensitive now?
I'm not looking for a fight here, and I suppose you aren't either. So let's not make one.
In the case, since it's over, I'm just interested for my own curiosity. I won't get angry if he doesn't disclose.
Quote: teddysWell, I agree if you come on here looking for advice, you should out the promo. That seems like a reasonable quid pro quo.

Boy, there sure is a different attitude about promotions here than over at green chip BJ21. If you disclose anything about a promotion over on green chip BJ21 the good old boys will string you up at the nearest tree.
I'm not going to disclose the location of this promotion for the simple reason that in the future they maybe offering similar promotions, and I don't want to burn those out. Some of you probably know where this promotion was, but I hope you do not disclose the location so future promotions can be protected. This promotion can not be called great by any measure, but when you include card counting it will become an okay game.
Quote: teddysThat's eminently reasonable. I of course would always like to hear where the promo is, but I can understand the need to keep it hidden. Since there's no clear-cut policy here, maybe the Wizard could weigh in on the rules for disclosing a promo, if there are any? Always keep secret, always disclose, or poster's choice?
This shouldn't be a matter for rules. Those who post advice for promos do so voluntarily. My point is that if you ask for advice, from which you expect to benefit, then it's just simple decency to share the promo. If giving it too much publicity will be counterproductive, though, you can offer to disclose it by PM.
That is, unless it was something like an unbelieveable promo from Caesars, good at all properties. Then it might be a problem because every one of us has a Caesars property relatively close to home.
But even then, just how many people are we? Not enough to dent it.

For example, in another thread, there is the discussion of the "free money" raffle event at Sahara on Monday. Not too many members are going to bother going....
