anyone know what the effect of the house edge is if they charge a 25 cent hand fee per hand. Atlantic City is now offering 'blackjack for a buck" but charge a 25 cent fee per hand if your bet is less then $5 (not sure if its exactly $5 as well). Of note, they used this space to remove a true, fair $5 table in each casino. I know that the more you bet, the less percentage this would be, but to me a 5% commission on a $5 bet in blackjack is lot of money. A 25% commission on a $1 is beyond belief. Bet $1.25 to win $1 in blackjack.

Hey, I was just at the Taj where they are now offering the $1 pay to play table (min. bet $1 paying .25, max $10) and you can only bet $1-5 paying a quater each time or bet the full max of $10 without paying a quater. They would not allow any bets between $6-9, at least not the dealer I was watching. My friend wanted to play dollar blackjack because he only had 150 bucks with him and he went down 140 in an about two hours.

I'm pretty sure everyone in here knows one dollar tables are a complete scam but I don't know the edge.

...I don't know the edge.
