FT Sill Apache Casino in Lawton OK has started this weekly BJT for a seven week period and I am contemplating playing in it. I am interested in comments for strategy on the first hand, since strategy after that can be complicated.
Here are the rules: 6D, S17, no surrender, no insurance, 2-1 BJs, split once (Aces get one card), DAS, no max bet, $20 to play gets you 200 in chips. 7 players at the table and you play 7 hands. There will be a maximum of 7 rounds with the 7 table winners playing for the money. The weekly tournament pays 1st-$777, 2nd-360, 3rd-240, 4th-170, 5th-70, 6th-60, 7th-50. The 7 weekly winners get to play on 2/23 for $7777 total prize.
Here is the kicker, anytime you are all in you can buy 200 more in chips for $20 to double down or split.
So on the first hand what do you think of going all in and buying the 200 more in chips and doubling down and spliting on all the normal stuff plus all the situations where you have to hit, i.e. things such as 12 v 2,3, all the stiffs against 7,8,9,10,A and any other thing that might interest you.
If you bust out you can rebuy in the next round assuming it is not the last round of the day.
