TC has proved to be a bit challenging for me ( trying to be fine ) I think ?
Using Arnold's True Edge method for the hi lo lite- seemed easier , but simple division ( I can do that)

So I thought if it does not come out evenly, just round down being conservative w/ the TC

IE- RC =6 ( # of decks left 2.5) = TC of 2
7 - - - - - - - - = TC of 2 (almost 3)
8 - - - - - - - - - - = TC of 3
9 - - - - - - - - - - = TC of 3
10 - - - - - - - - - - = TC of 4

So would I be sacrificing accuracy ? Also using HI LO, can you divide by 1/2 decks and still use the I18 .

Any comments would be very helpful for a beginning counter

Thanks !!

May all your aces have faces !!!!

Given that a true count adjustment for number of decks is an estimate anyway, being a little inaccurate won't hurt you that much. If you made a play based on a TC of +3 when it was really +4, the roof would not cave in on you (and since you said you would be conservative in your estimations, it is unlikely you would make the opposite mistake).

At medium-high counts, your most critical decision is bet sizing, so I would concentrate on that.

One thing I would say is not to waste time learning any play variations below a TC of -1. Any counter playing with a TC below this should switch tables.

This is not entirely true. The EV of playing at negative counts is rarely less than -3%. If you can hold your place by making $5 bets, then you will be present for the next shuffle. This is probably better than migrating to another table and waiting for the shoe to run out. (The possibility also exists, of course, that if you stay, the shoe could turn positive again.)

Don't forget wonging. Many times I do it right at the table, other times it takes some creativity. It can bring heat, so know what your casino will tolerate.
