playing the wizard's free game, betting $100 on each hand, it looks like I only got 'paid' $200 each, $400 total, for getting Ace-ten on both hands after splitting my Aces. I believe that means I didn't get paid 3 to 2, and the $400 contains the original bet returned.
So that means you can only get blackjack on the initial deal? These hands were just "21" ?

That's exactly what it means. I'd be very happy to get a 10 on each ace. It doesn't happen as often as I'd like.

True everywhere. A blackjack ("natural") is only on the first two cards dealt.
The fact that a believer is happier than a skeptic is no more to the point than the fact that a drunken man is happier than a sober one. The happiness of credulity is a cheap and dangerous quality.---George Bernard Shaw

Yup. The call by dealers is "Splitting Aces, one card only, no Blackjacks", or at least thats what I wsa trained to say.
