Welcome to the forum.

Some casinos do not allow redoubling. Use the "first" strategies.

Some casinos DO allow redoubling. Use the second strategy until you double, then switch to the third strategy. This is more aggressive, to take better advantage of the redoubling rule.

If I've misread something, I invite corrections.
May the cards fall in your favor.

If you are really interested in Spanish 21 read Katarina Walker's book. It is the best read on Spanish 21.
At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.

I am not sure about this, but if somebody can’t even understand Wizard’s website, there is no point of reading into any other books. Not to mention the effectiveness of Kat’s book.

It was groundbreaking when it first appeared.
Not that I looked for it, but I don't remember seeing much Spanish 21 in Vegas.
The older I get, the better I recall things that never happened

It’s strange how sp21 never really caught on in Vegas, in many markets it was quite popular and still is.
Happy days are here again

I tried playing Spanish 21 when it first came out. I was playing strategy according to this site and got some strange looks as it was different from regular blackjack strategy. Sometimes it worked sometimes it didn't.maybe just the awkwardnrsd and frustration was why it never caught on as much.i never played it much after that.i was once playing let it ride and their was a carribean stud table next door with no players. Drunk guy was bragging to his girlfriend how he could beat the dealer. Dealer explained to him if he wanted to play the hand he would have to double his bet to stay . Sure enough he threw a fit when told to double his bet to play the hand. He lost.prople not understanding rules and the games leads to frustration and not wanting to play it.

In my opinion, the fact that Spanish 21 bonuses don't happen often (less than 1% of hands), and that the basic strategy is more complex makes the game "boring" for recreational players, compared to other "carnival games". From the casino's perspective, the low house edge — even in the "Match The Dealer" side bet, coupled with royalty payments, make the game unpopular. It's far more profitable for a casino to offer 6:5 Blackjack than Spanish 21.
