Quote: billryanYour typical Vegas visitor, with their gambling BR measuring in the hundreds should have zero interest in what they might get from hosts or playing conditions for high rollers. I have as much interest in what occurs at a high roller table as I care about surf conditions off Catalina Island.

On the other hand, I have a different opinion. I appreciate the view into the high roller world and into the behavior of casino hosts. I would suggest that if you are not interested in these kind of posts, then treat them the same way you treat mathematics threads : don't read them.
And certainly, resist responding to them with a nasty post expressing your lack of interest.
Quote: billryanIt's not a nasty post. It is the truth. The average tourist isn't going near a hi-roller table so claiming that learning about the hi-roller life is essential is not particularly useful advice. You are welcome to a dissenting opinion. So am I.

If you believe that your function in this forum is to respond to WOV posts by saying that you found the post not interesting, and you persist in doing that then the moderators will have a discussion about whether that constitutes trolling.
I imagine that everyone on this forum finds some number of posts not interesting, but it is not Billryan's role to review posts and then make an additional post that calls out posts that he finds uninteresting. No forum functions like that and this forum does not function like that.
What is interesting is that I observed two players at two separate casinos playing very hard recently, just at regular public tables. High rollers obviously. One had a stack of 5000 chips that reached the chin, practically, the other with a more modest stack of say, about, 100K in 5K chips.
The one with the mountain of chips was flat betting 10K a hand on a shoe.
The one with less chips, also on a shoe, 10 - 15K a hand, and alternating between 1 - 3 hands, which amounts to some kind of spread, certainly. I didn't stick around to see how did, but I did observe that was "making some pretty big bets on impulse. No consistent pattern" to quote, Owning Mahowny.
"My kind of guy." (To further quote Mahowny, and what any casino manager would have to say about such action.)

I could get behind having a “not interesting” button next to the thank you button.

My function on this forum is to post what I want, when I want. If you think that merits a discussion among the moderators, go for it. Perhaps you should take your own advice- if you don't like what a poster says, don't read it.

Survey claims last update 1/2021, though the downtown survey claims a 9/8/2021 last update.
Good stuff. Thank you for linking.
What survey? Vegas Advantage has lots of pages surveying different games and different areas. All the Strip blackjack pages say they were updated June 26, 2021Quote: IndyJeffreySurvey claims last update 1/2021,
I know this dealer and this dealer likes me, but is also one of those who doesn't mind making suggestions like, "Bet more, now!"
Point being that, don't stop playing, and don't back yourself off just because you THINK there is heat. Unless the hammer comes down, keep playin'!
Quote: MDawgI did this recently just as a test. I went to a major Strip casino that allows mid shoe entry. I watched until the count was ridiculously positive and then jammed 5000 on the circle. I did this three times over the course of many shoes, just standing there and betting only three hands. I didn't even sit down. I won 2/3. No one said a word.

So what does this have to do with the BJ Survey? Does it prove that mid-shoe entry is indeed really allowed?
You're talking gibberish. You originally said the "survey" (what survey?) "claims last update 1/2021, though the downtown survey claims a 9/8/21 last update". What I asked what unnamed survey you were referring to, you said "the downtown survey". Plugging that into your original statement, we have:Quote: IndyJeffreyQuote: MichaelBluejayWhat survey?

Some casinos will allow mid shoe entry. Others will not. Obviously the ones that do, will allow it, but this was a test of casino tolerance for an obviously timed, large bet.
