Classic old video.

Look for another where the Wizard debates math with a Witch downtown.

The changes in Vegas from these videos from the late 90’s/ early 2000’s are incredible.

supposedly Munchkin does not like his picture to appear anywhere, or so I've heard claimed, but there he is at about 2:57

in fact this video features a lot of "wizards" we know

Yeah, all them fish-net stockinged Keno runners disappeared. Blackjack shrank. Players are no longer well-dressed and jovial.

I figured it would be there, but I went ahead and watched the video to make sure, and of course there it was - the Baccarat tie bet.

Mathematically, abysmal. But for whatever reason, in my life I have won FAR more tie bets than I have lost, which given that they pay 8:1, has paid off handsomely. I actually make a tie bet rarely, only on Baccarat shoes that are following a pattern and only then on the tie line, and even then, not always by any means.

Of course dealers will tell you to "always bet the last hand tie" which let's face it, why should the last hand of the shoe come tie any more than any other?

And yet during my last Vegas trip on one day's action I played a marathon 15 consecutive shoes of midi-Bacc., and 13 of these shoes ended in tie. Eventually it got to where I kept saying to myself and to the dealers, that I KNOW it's going to be a tie I should just plop down five grand collect forty and walk. But I never could bring myself to do something like that, especially given that my average bet was around a few hundred with an occasional 2000 max, so - I would drop a couple or few hundred on there on the last hand tie, and win, and each time jump up in joy but also think, now if I were so sure, why didn't I bet more? But I just kept thinking that this pattern just can't keep up, no way the last hand tie is going to keep coming so consistently. But it did.

Finally on the last shoe I played, shoe #15, I did place a pretty large last hand tie bet, 750 (with a hundred next to it for the dealers), collected six grand, and walked, walked mostly because this added to the other shoe winnings from that day's session, took me sufficiently beyond my intended goal.

I'm telling you when you're winning tie hands like that (or even, just plain winning a lot) at Baccarat, the Asians don't look at you questioningly. They look at you like there's some magic light over your head.
I tell you it’s wonderful to be here, man. I don’t give a damn who wins or loses. It’s just wonderful to be here with you people. https://wizardofvegas.com/forum/gambling/betting-systems/33908-the-adventures-of-mdawg/

Holy ... that's the first time I've seen him. Not at all what I was expecting. His tone of voice evokes a much smaller man.

Great stuff. Sometime around 2000 Travel Channel was very heavy on Vegas shows. I remember knowing I wanted to move here and hoping everything about the place was as cheesy as these shows made it seem. Then a few years later they turned into Food Network 2.
