Quote: dwight56The casino I play at offer DD, 6 deck or 8 deck. The rules are the same for all 3 games. I play hi lo spread 1-16, the rules are split up to 4, DAS, H17, DA2, 3-2BJ,, pen on DD is 60-65% on 6 and 8 deck is 85%. I have played each game a lot but mostly the DD, so my question is which game would offer the opportunity?
The others who have responded are skeptical that at a single casino you would last long at all spreading between say, $25, and $400. How long can you get away with that spread without being backed off?
I think the answer to your question is not based mainly on the math, but more based on your likelihood of not being asked to leave......
My guess is that as time spent and money bet goes up, the shoe games become better, because there will be smaller jumps in bets, helping stay under the radar. For shorter time, and bets under a few hundred, the double deck is better: make your biggest bets and get out
Quote: TomGIn Las Vegas it is possible to play with a 16-1 spread at $5 tables virtually indefinitely.
I was under the impression that would be true if you jump around from casino to casino. But his original post said 'at my casino'.

And there are guys who can play full time hours like that at $25 tables -- our own ZenKinG being one of them. I'm sure other places are different, but would be surprised if they are so different it gets anyone completely cut off.

Which casino has decent games and will let you spread $5-80 regularly?

Most everyone.
DD game is better. 85% on 8D isn’t that good.

As far as I know, it can be done at every singe place that has a blackjack game.
Quote: TomGAn $80 max bet at a $5 table would give me about $20 in EV per hour. Which is why I spread $5 - $125 instead.
Good work if you can get it. I have not had as much success. Perhaps I should lose my lucky Blackbelt in Blackjack Tshirt.
Last month I was spreading $4-$30 at the BH and had two pit guys giving me the stinkeye. I didn't think that place even had two pit bosses. Kept waiting for a chance to double up on a max bet but it never came.
Shorter deck games, given PEN is not bad (which yours is not) will almost always generate a better win rate given similar or same rules. Shorter decks launch better variance in count frequencies thus giving more opportunities to bet more with an edge. The drawbacks though, generally outweigh the bonuses. Being honest with yourself, when you play that DD game do you ALWAYS Wong out in bad counts? Especially if you’re heads up it can sometimes be tougher to always leave the shoe, and especially more frequently given the variance in the count frequencies (which go both ways). PB’s might not know all this, but they do know that counters love shorter deck games, which is why they most often come with more heat.
I think if you’re trying to play for longevity you play the 85% PEN 6D game and spread $5-$80 or even $90 (usually the checks play call is at $100). Especially if you don’t look young you should be able to find lots of places that’ll take that action all day on shoe games and not even care.
Quote: NathanI think Roulette is one of the best games. Pays 35 to 1 on a single straight up number for example of you bet 5 and the ball lands on 5 you get 35 dollars on a dollar bet. Not at all that hard to get a straight up bet. Blackjack pays like 10 to 1 or something like that, not really all hot odds. I don't know Craps odds. I think Poker and Video Poker pay out 160 to one on a really good hand, a Royal Flush, which is the hardest hand to hit, so the odds are way BETTER than Roulette and BJ, but very HARD to get.
You've been here 2 years now. You've posted over 2300 times. One would think, in that time, you had actually read ANYTHING on here, a forum dedicated to discussing the math and value of different games. But no, every single thing beyond "I like roulette" was so wrong it's appalling. And, I think, deliberately wrong. Along with similarly vapid content in a dozen threads these last couple days .
Go back to your corner and stop trying to bait people into suspensions for correcting your bad info in all these threads.
Everyone else. Please do not take the bait.
