Hi everyone,
I looked up the official rules for the casino I'm interested in. They don't specifically say what the name of the rule they're using is, but provided these descriptions.
"If the dealer obtains blackjack after a player doubles down, the
dealer may collect only the amount of the player’s blackjack wager
and not the additional amount wagered in doubling down."
"If the dealer obtains a blackjack after a player splits cards, the
dealer may collect only the amount of the player’s blackjack wager
and may not collect the additional amount wagered in splitting
cards."
Just wondering what the name of the rule they're using is? (OBO, OBBO, BB+1, etc)
Other rules. S17, DAS, Double on 9-11, split to 2 hands, Can't hit split aces, no surrender, dealer doesn't draw a hole card
Thanks in advance

OBO is "Original Bet Only" so that should be the rule you're referring to.

If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

The rules are somewhat vague (man... how often does THAT happen in a casino?): in particular, if you split and bust both hands, and then the dealer gets a BJ, does she keep both of your busted bets, or do you get one back? If she keeps them all, then the rule is called OBBO, for original and busted bets only; if you get one back, then the rule is OBO. However, be aware that OBO and OBBO, are not the only possibilities.
Hope this helps!

Here's a list of the various "no hole card" rules, in order from most to least favorable for the player:
OBO - "Original Bets Only" - This is what you described; the dealer takes only one unit with a dealer BJ no matter what happens with your doubles and splits. Odds, strategy, and indices are identical to a standard American game where the dealer checks for BJ before playing.
BB+1 - "Busted Bets Plus One Unit" - The dealer will take any bets lost from busting, plus one of the remaining units (if any) when the dealer finishes his/her hand with a BJ. With this rule set you double the same as you would in an American game (since you shouldn't normally double a stiff hand that could bust anyway), split Aces the same (unless you could hit the hands, in which you'd still split but play the hands out in a modified way), and split eights against a ten with a modified strategy* but not against an Ace. *IIRC that "modified strategy" is to stand on a 15 or 16 unless it's the last hand and all previous ones had busted, to reduce your chances of losing a bet via busting.
OBBO - "Original and Busted Bets Only" - You lose any additional bets raised due to splitting, but not doubling to a dealer BJ. Therefore the strategy here would be American-style for doubling purposes, but European-style for splitting.
ENHC - "European No Hole Card" - The usual rule in Europe, where all bets on the table are vulnerable to a dealer BJ. The BS for this game is with the exception of AA vs. 10 to never double or split against a dealer 10 or Ace.
