If you had the opportunity to only bet double downs. What percentage of the time do they occur? And what is the total e.v. of the double down.

I.E. if you were dealt 100 hands, and betting $1000 per hand. what would be the total e.v.?

Thanks!

Depends on the doubles... each of the different situations carry a different EV. You can see in the Wiz's appendix each of the different Expected Returns via doubling different hands. So let's say you ALWAYS got 11 v dealer 4... well, the expected return is 0.566041. So if you're base betting $1,000, and you double for a total action of $2,000... then your EV on the 1 hand is $1,132.08... if you did this for 100 hands, you could expect to make $113,208.02. This is of course just ONE hand (and a strong one to boot) but you could look up other doubles as well.

I think the percentage of time they occur is in the Wiz's FAQ's on blackjack.
Playing it correctly means you've already won.

I am looking for the E.V. of all the double downs combined. I can see what each scenario is on the appendix but I need the combined ROI, since I dont know how often each scenario occurs.. If i were only to bet the double downs for example what would the ROI be.

In example say betting $1000 over 100 hands or if I could just figure out a way to calculate per hand.

the game is 8 decks, dealer hits on soft 17.

For example, if you had the opportunity to only bet the double downs. What would your roi be in the game. 8 decks. dealer hits on soft 17. I would need to know the combined frequencies of how often I get a hand to double with, and the overall edge of those double downs combined.

on wizards page i found this. If you cant double down its -1.48 percent. So i think thats the answer then, basically you get a 1.48% edge if you could bet someone's double down every time you wanted to.
