I started playing BJ in 1999, got really serious about it in 2000 and from then until about 2015 would hit Vegas 30 days a year for 10-12 hours a day of BJ. During that time I did slightly better than my expectations but the elusive four in a row never found me. Hit three a couple of dozen times and maybe half of them had a first card that kept hope alive but never finished it. I've had dealers do it TO me twice, but never got it myself until this morning.
Nothing dramatic, and at pretty low stakes but after hitting my first three in a row some weeks into the start of my "career", it's been a long road to Quads.
My hope for five was squashed early on as my first card of the next hand was a four.
Anyone a member of the Five in a Row club?
Quote: BlackjackGuy123I once got blackjack, blackjack and twenty in the same round playing three spots, does that count?
Not sure if there is a set criteria for it. Just a personal checkmark.
In fact, I've never even gotten 3 in a row since then. Back to back blackjacks many times.

Yep. Had a dealer get 7 in a row in a ridiculous high count of an 8 decker. Was able to bet insurance on a few of them.

Quit using pinochle decks.

About 4x more likely than a dealt Royal. Good for you. Should happen to a pro about once every year and a half or so. I'm not sure as if most pros would take special note of it.

Were you playing with a guy named Alan?

Possibly. But not the Richard Gere lookalike.
Crazy things sometimes happen when you cut off 1/2 deck out of 8.
(No, I haven't done it. But still, call me when you do.)

I was playing single deck (yes it was found with 2+ decks in places also) Super Fun 21 at the temporary MGM Detroit when they had it and asked: If all of the aces were dealt out on a full table, would they still check for a blackjack with a 10 showing? Sadly they said yes. 🤔

Better to not to break routine. And you could have the fouled deck. Is axel still offering $500 for drawing non-wild quints from a quad? Haha
Congrats bill!
I don't think I'd be likely to be able to recall the results of the last four hands in a blackjack game.
Quote: GreasyjohnI've mentioned thus before but it's very interesting. At Stratosphere some years ago I was palying a DD game. I was playing heads up with the dealer. After the dealer shuffled she dealt us both a blackjack. And on the very next hand she dealt us both a blackjack again.
Numerous times playing video poker, I've been dealt all four aces in the first four cards!

I havent had any alcoholic beverage in over 20 years.

Alcohol is the best part of my life. I'm not an alcoholic though, I can quit anytime I want. I just choose not to!

I still haven't in a casino, afaik! Fml. Ever since I have kept real track in Oct. 2013, the only dealt ranks I'm missing are Aces and 9s. 32 total. :(

You've missed out on some great craft beer then.
Got this for "free" at M Resort this month. Founders Canadian Breakfast Stout. Retails for $25 for a 750ml bottle at a store, not a bar.

No ingredient label, either. Folks could be drinking copious amounts of Mexican donkey jizz dilly dilly

Unless I did the math wrong, your first four cards dealt will be all of the aces 1 in 270,725 times on average.
No one legitimate has ever come foward. After receiving some suspicious PM's people even trying to use five ace frenzy(or whatever it's called)Quote: tringlomaneBetter to not to break routine. I dropped the offer to only people I know. I don't want to deal with scammers. I just imagine some guy with a VP machine at home rigging it to draw a 5th same ranked card.
I have had the offer on the table long enough. The offer is officially closed. I have no doubt if it ever happens to anyone on the forum they will post it up. I'm sure it's happened to Alan a few times in a row by now.
The VP authors can keep telling people to always hold the 5 card as if it's some valuable advice. People can resume holding all 5 cards if they wish.
Better safe than sorry.
P.S. a few months back I seen a guy get dealt 3333K and he held them all. He was playing .5 double double. I was gonna say something, but he didn't seem like a very friendly guy.

And then like Dorothy you woke up in your own bed with Auntie Em and Uncle Henry standing over you saying you got a bad blow to the head during the tornado..

Well, I haven't got in it the first five dealt...so I suck. lol

Yes, beer before 1998 was pretty disgusting.

I probably should drink a Bud Light during the superbowl just for that ad campaign.

By far most of my blackjack play has been on IGT Game Kings, and I've had four in a row numerous times. Of course, so has the dealer. I guess I've played a lot of hands.

I did just that, maybe a year ago. I might have even posted about it. I'm a total retard. I walk into the casino, haven't played a hand yet. My ex-girlfriend is there, so maybe I was a little excited about that. Plus, I'm on anxiety pills and I think I took two. Walk up to a 10-hand Ult-X that is full of 2X and 3X staring at me, saying, "Vulture me, vulture me." It may have been only a 5-cent denom, but I was suicidal after I screwed up. I dealt the hand, Quad Fours with a paint kicker pops up, pat in all ten spots. For some unknown reason I hold all five cards and as I press the deal button my heart jumps out of my throat, realizing it's Double Double Bonus. What an idiot. And I punished myself for hours.

Too much beer drinkin', not enough poker playin'. 😉
