Hi,
I would like to know the change in house edge for allowing infinte resplitting? I've observed that your Tripple Attack ananlysis was done for infinite decks and infinite re-splitting.
I am using a 21 simulator which allows infinite resplitting-constraint by design. Can I ignore the impact of infinite resplitting for standard game of 21-blackjack/spanish/tripple attack in my ananlysis? How big the effect is- for standard vegas blackjack game?
PS: My player never split Faces.
Thanks

My educated guess is that going from re-splitting to 4 hands to infinite re-splitting is worth about 0.001% to the player. I've played a lot of blackjack, and seldom am I rebuffed to split to five hands because of the four hand limit.

Once every 600hours in my span of 2000hours play.. If you split faces, then you will see this a lot more often..

Thanks a lot Mr.Wizard. I guess I am better off ignoring the effect of infinite splitting instead of correcting the design at the cost of extensibility.

I've seen it a couple times; It's not that rare. I would estimate once every 50,000 hands or so. I saw a guy get dealt 5 aces at a shop that allowed re-splitting aces -- needless to say, he was pissed ... especially when the dealer drew to 21.

The best on I have seen at work is someone splitting 7's against my 5. They split to 6 hands (8 deck shoe). won 3 and lost 3. It turned into a collosal waste of time for us both.

Eight 3's against the dealer's 5... lost 'em all.

What about re-splitting to five hands, which is what my local casino allows? I've calculated that it is worth about 0.003% to the player, but my math sucks, big time.
Is my calculation about right, or am I on the wrong planet?

14 hands in Spain last winter. (Donkey splitting tens) He won 3 or 4 of the hands.
I splitted 9s to 6 hands a while ago on same casino, 1 unit +

I would assume it is very small. The Probability of you having the option to resplit till five hands is about 1 in 72000 Hands. Given that you will not split 10s and 5s. So the House advantage would be something around 0.0003477%, assuming asp
