You read these threads... you know most of us play poker or have played poker in the past. I played poker for 7+ years all over the US before playing mostly machines nowadays. I still jump in a game when it looks easy. The problem is that they can't get the hands out fast enough for me and I only play on average 2 hands per hour so I can't roll the money around fast enough to get a return. You have to tip everyone in all directions in that game and they are raking far too much and stealing/raking jackpot games now which I just watch the money go bye bye every hand! Oh and look at the raping of how much juice on tournaments or buy another 2k in chips for 10 dollars lol! Your more than welcome to join me.

LOL...funny. No but they do serve Sea Bass and I suggest if you order that you get it En Papillote although they have other preps for it. Although I think Chilean Sea Bass is actually Patagonian Toothfish...so that's basically Catfish!
Besides, being labeled a failed AP is not the same as being labeled a failed doctor, teacher, engineer, etc.
It's all about context.

Sounds good... let's wait for the 4 weeks for Romes to come out and by that time you can get here as well. That is if everyone can agree to that. So that almost fills up the room.
AxelWolf
ZenKing
Billryan
Romes
Djatc
Rigondeaux
Beachbumbabs
PokerGrinder
Monet0412
So that's 9 ....that's a good cut off point. I need Romes to tell us when he is in town and what day is best. Find out if that will work for everyone else especially beachbumbabs who has to fly out I suppose. Since we have the list we should probably keep dates and times to PMs from now on.
Interesting yes, useful no. Once you get that many APs/Value gamblers / gamblers in one room very little actual good information will come out(for various reasons).Quote: beachbumbabsIf I can get a few days' notice I'd do my best to come out. I think this would be really interesting and useful.

I was thinking the same thing... I won't be talking too much shop or talking too much at all. I don't know what to say or how to govern such a mess. I figured AxelWolf would take care of the show for us. I can handle ordering the apps and we can agree on the wine or scotch or whatever. I kinda made a bet here that went south on me really fast lol. For me it will be a nice meet and greet actually this is helping me more than any of you. In my mind it was going to be everyone who is local but it snowballed into people flying in so it is more tricky to put together.

Would I be out of line to say ZK should never step into a casino again with his attitude? Unless he has the mentality of its entertainment and he expects to lose. Or maybe he already does expect to lose at this point. At least get a players card and get some free food if you do expect to lose. It's not like your getting backed off at "cheating" casinos.
Sorry ZK, I think many saw this coming and your woe is me story isn't helping. You have a good opportunity offered from good people on here, don't f it up by becoming so unlikeable that your on your own. And STOP the cheating nonsense, it only makes you look worse.

The one time I ate at Hugos( on a comp), it was almost impossible to read the menu it was so dark. Perhaps the private room has better lighting.

Yea you're definitely not on the right person then. Because I never won 'money' in that specific tournament. I always placed high, but never received cash, only a ps3 in the tournaments infancy stages where 5k wasn't offered. Your ranking is completely off as well. But I won't give out my exact ranking on a public forum. Let's just say I qualified many times for this world tournament as well as many other domestic and international competitions. I'm also one of the higher rankings and by rankings I mean world rankings not country rankings, but I don't play as much as I used to, I got more into blackjack, and as of now what a horrible decision.

Its just that no one can prove that they don't cheat other than 'they have to much to lose'. No one to date has given me a safeguard procedure that keeps the gaming commission in check that can give me some trust that the commission isn't corrupt and is in it for tax revenue. I just dont understand how im the one thats wromg for simply asking an honest question. They basically show the cards in every other casino game except blackjack. If cards are not being shown, no one can give me any safeguard procedures being done, how the hell can i be sure im getting an honest game? I'm not even worried about these casinos anymore, I'm worried about the commission that is supposed to keep the casinos in check. If the commission is corrupt, all bets are off. With all the movies and documentaries on counting, I just find it hard to believe that these casinos wouldnt rig the game in some type of fashion to protect from counting or have the commission in their pocket.
TO DATE, I have seen only one casino show the cards face up and have them in order for easy viewing and that was in Delaware.
I'm aware in PA at the change of cards, the cards are then put in a packet and sent off to the commission and if any cards are missing they get fined, but once again this is assuming these commissions are not corrupt. Are there safeguards in place at the commission where it would take a huge amount of people to be 'in' on it or is there shortcuts being done behind closed doors that can lead to suspicious activity? Not once have I seen gaming come to a table and inspect the cards, etc. Who oversees the commission? Nobody. We all know governments are corrupt, why wouldn't they be even more corrupt when money is at stake? Higher edge, higher tax revenue.
Hundreds pf people would have to be introduced into the scam with zero objecting or going public, which would give them fame, book deals and a piece of the legal action.
To get a few k extra casinos would be risking a class action suit that would turn out their lights.
Many people other than you have won.
You haven't even played much. If they were adding a small edge by cheating I don't know that it would even be observable.

They might all be available. First problem is all the paranoia of posting and meeting up. Second problem I see is ten people who don't know each other agreeing on a specific day and time to meet up. At first I was thinking a large group dinner might be fun and I can meet everyone at once saving time but I am thinking maybe 1 on 1 or smaller meetings are better. I dunno... as it stands now we're waiting weeks for people to fly in. Either way I'm still just go go go and putting in the hours pushing buttons like usual.
Also if ZK doesn't start breaking even who knows whst his plan will be?

I heard the steakhouse at Circus Circus is really good. I've eaten at Hugo's and Oscar's and they were very good as well. I never came to Vegas when the Stardust was around. It's just a weird thing to have all these steakhouses in these casinos.
Also, I care. I like finding new restaurants, especially in casinos since I can get them comped :)

It's not as difficult as it seems. After reading thru the thread most on the list albeit one or two already know each other pretty well. I do agree that time seems to be of the essence as ZenKing seems to be having a rough go of things.
Oh sure, the food is top notch, but so is the old school ambiance and the service.
Can't fault it.
Weird that such a great dining venue would be in such a low-rent casino.

I don't understand this thinking by you and djatc... it's like your saying we're only allowed to have top notch food or service in places that are high rent or places where the aristocrats rub elbows. The truth is that usually the best food is served in the biggest dumps or right on the street owned by families or people who do the same thing over and over for decades. You guys can keep those white glove places on the strip smelling your scented air conditioning and sitting in 10k dollar leather chairs. For the record... these places are not weird... they are how Vegas always was and should be.

The Carve at Eastside Cannery, not owned by the casino but inside it. Put this steak house up against any place not located in a casino. Great value as well.
Longhorn Cafe. Some may question this one but if can hack thru the smoke it's a winner.
Breakfast at the Klondike. Joint knows how to make some bacon.
Downtown Grand has the association with Triple George Grill which is actually across the street. Cool ass place with a great menu. Never would have went had it not been for the casino association.
Anthony's Burgers and Brews in The M. Best burger in town.
I get out to some of these supposedly ritzier parts. The food is shit. The Rampart Casino is a place that I would recommend brown bagging a lunch, dinner, or even a breakfast.

Listen, im sick of bringing up this cheating thing, but again, no one still has given me any proof, rather than hearsay. How would hundreds of employees and tipped employees(dealers?) have to be in on it? Do dealers get to see the cards before they're put into play? In my experience at most casinos I've played at, the dealers only see the cards face down and never spread the cards face up. They get the cards out of the box from the pit boss and never show the cards face up, so they never even get to see them. I'm sure its the same way in the backroom, these are all pre packaged cards that are sealed and no pit boss gates to see them either. So I don't know which 'hundreds of employees' you're referring to.
To me the whole process is shady. How do I know these pre packaged cards weren't manipulated by the higher ups in the factory? to me there wouldn't need to be hundreds of employees in on it, just some high level executives from the factory, casino, and commission. Until someone can layout the exact sequence that these cards go through going to and from the casino, then my question still stands and idk why anyone would think I'm wrong to question it.
What happens to the cards when they leave the casino? Dealers in PA told me they get fined if there's a card missing after the cards are done with and sent back to the commission. Again, who exactly at the commission is checking these cards and are there safeguards in place for low level employees at the commission to check as well? Or only high level executives in the backroom check it?
Can someone who worked as a dealer or at the commission tell me the exact sequence of how the cards get to and from the casino and who exactly checks it? If dealers and low level employees at commission check it, then I'd feel much better. If everything is done in the backroom, red flags are sent out. In my experience I've never seen blackjack dealers other than Delaware fan the cards face up.

I have already told you 2 times on this site that in PA whenever they change cards they spread the cards face up and verify all the cards. Then they flip them over and mix them up on the table. Once they do that they do the normal shuffle and cards are ready to go. If they would cheat it would have to happen after the cards are in play and not before.
Damn Casino is smart they even made you deposit money in a Bank which they secretly own... Cheating Mother F'ers!!

I've never played blackjack in a casino that doesn't inspect both sides of the cards when for imperfections when they are being changed.
Only on carnival games have I seen "pre checked" cards used and inserted directly into the shuffler.
