I was playing black jack on a table with a side bet paying 9 to 1 (where you can't exceed your base bet) for "3 a like", 1st two players cards and 1st dealers card give "3 a like", "3 a like" being listed as:
Straight Flush
3 of a kind
Straight
Flush
What is the probability of winning on this bet? Show math if you would be so kind.

There are 1916 3 card poker hands that are a flush or better out of a total of 22100 possible hands.
So you 1916 times you win 9 for a total of 17244.
and 22100-1916=20184 times you lose 1 for a total of -20184.
Adding them together gives 17244+ -20184 = -2940
giving an edge of -2920/2200 = 0.1330317
ie House edge for the bet is 13.30%

Look up "21+3" side bet in Blackjack. It's the same thing. Pretty sure there's an article on WoO.

Very popular in St. Louis, and Ameristar and Hollywood offer another side bet where trips are 90 to 1, straight flush 180 to 1, and suited of a kind 270 to 1.Edge of that is in the low teens.

"Someone" is showing the house edge for one deck. For six decks it is 3.23% for eight decks it is 2.49%. One of the casinos I monitor for vpfree2 has a two deck game with this. The house edge on this side bet is 7.26%. If you could get this on a 13 or more deck game (good luck!!) it would be an advantage play.

How do you get the 1916 and 22100? I understand what they represent, just not the math of how you get them.
