I am seeking information from anyone who may be familiar with the nomination process for the Blackjack Hall of Fame. I understand that it is located in the Barona Casino in Lakeside, near San Diego, California.

Katarina Walker was the author of a well researched and detailed book on Spanish 21 and Australian Pontoon. Although Blackjack variants, her work was original and of a very high standard and in my opinion qualifies her for a nomination. Unfortunately, Ms Walker passed away on July 15, 2015 aged 49 years so it would be a posthumous nomination which is also supported by her husband, Paul. It is understood there have been many Blackjack authors over time and others with long standing contributions to the game but the quality of her work is exemplary. If selected she would be the first female inducted and would be a fitting tribute.

Any advice is appreciated.

Talk to LVBear at Stanford Wong's BJ21.com or look up where he growls at? He would most likely know about and how that works. I'd vote for her! (Which means nothing since I doubt I'd get to be part of that vote).

I'll send you the Email of Max Rubin via a Private Message. He runs the Blackjack Ball and has a strong hand in the the nomination process.

Oh, no! I did not know this. I counted Kat among my friends before she suddenly dropped off the radar, I think in 2012. Her work on Spanish 21 was above any reproach. More importantly, as a friend she was a great listener, very funny, always had valuable advice to offer, and had a deep understanding of all kinds of things.

Kat is definitely worthy of not just being nominated but being entered in the Blackjack Hall of Fame.
