Quote: bikeaholic1991Northern California coastal casinos have double deck Spanish 21. I was curious how basic strategy/edge for the game would change with only two decks. The rules are double double, Hit soft 17, surrender, and allowed more than one card on split aces. I have read Katarina Walker's book and she doesn't acknowledge the existence of a two deck game. Wizard of Odds shares the same dearth of double deck spanish strategy.
Hi, and welcome to the forum. By "double double", do you mean "double on any two cards" or something else?
It means redouble after doubling. For example. $10 bet. Dealer 6 up. First two player cards are 2,3. BS is to double by doubling with $10. Next card is a 2. The player should then redouble with $20. Next card is another 2 for a total of 9. Time for the third and final redouble of $40. There is a total of $80 on the felt. Final card is a Jack. Dealer proceeds to draw a 4 card 21 and you groan. (This is how my last Spanish 21 session went except I was just betting $5. )Quote: beachbumbabsHi, and welcome to the forum. To answer the OP I can only find dealer standing on soft 17 for double deck.

Thanks, miplet! I was not aware that was an option on any BJ-based game. Interesting rule.
