If I always opt out of getting a player's card, am I attracting more attention? I am afraid that I am already in some database. I usually say "no thanks." The last time, the pit boss seemed annoyed.

Not that I would recommend that you break the law or anything, but you can buy a very good quality fake ID on the internet, then use it to get a card, so as to avoid suspicion.

My 19 year old step-daughter said she paid about $70 for hers, from a vendor in China.

She showed it to me, and it looks good.

Her fake ID purports to be issued out of Connecticut (she lives in Pac NW), and it even has the holographic etching / design in the plastic cover.

Impressive, to the untrained eye.

She reports no problems getting served in the San Diego bars.

Sorry, no idea of the URL: you'll need to search for it if you want to go down the road of deception.

What are you playing because without a valid ID there are some jackpot hands you will not be able to collect.

I wonder if at that casino the employees get some sort of credit for signing up new members?

If it's a casino where you don't play too often just say you're in town for one day.

But the reality is -- it doesn't matter if you have a players card or not. If they don't want you there they will let you know.

On the other hand, if you have a players card you might win their monthly drawing for a new car.

So you tell me which is the "advantage play"? LOL

Theoretically: If one shows up for a comped room with a fake ID using a credit card with the real name. Will they accept the credit card? I wonder if their hotel registration computer would red flag the credit card name?

Maybe, I am on a database.

Suppose, I go to a big national chain casino that I don't want to ever play in. I sign up for a players card. They let me play. Can I safely assume that I am not going to find trouble signing up a players card at all casino's that I haven't been banned at?

Been mulling this over, because I've booked multiple rooms several times under my player's benefits, and had the people in the other rooms put their credit cards on their rooms without problems.

I think you could, theoretically, get a dummy CC (or a pre-paid in case they run the resort fee immediately - I've only seen that once, at Paris LV, and it was an error as they were comped) in your fake name, give both (ID and CC) on check-in, because they don't charge the CC on check-in. Give your real name as your roommate who's coming in later, get 2 keys. Come back later to a different clerk (suggest you change your shirt, use a ball cap, something) and give them your room key and the credit card you actually want charged to be assigned to the room. Have your ID handy. They'll confirm which card to use when you check out.

I think it's a relatively common thing for people to have 1 who gets the comped room and any room comps the host will sign off on, and the other person they're traveling with to catch any additional charges. I don't think they'll let you check in without some kind of valid and matching credit card, even if that card doesn't get any charges after the stay.
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

wow. total parent fail. I don't care if you're a step-parent, but to know this and not tell your spouse who is the actual parent? horrible. If your spouse who is the actual parent doesn't care.... double horrible.

"Parent fail?"

Get with the times.

I had one back in the day.

So what?

No biggie.

The drinking laws are meant to be evaded and skirted.

Hell, I drank legally at 18 when I went to college in North Carolina (3.2 beer and wine only, egad), but then the law changed: is that fair?

I never shared my prior fake ID history with her, and her mom never had one (straight and narrow): step-dtr did it on her own (no doubt with imput from college friends)

Anyway, I mentioned it not to draw Dutch uncle flak, but to give counters the means to acquire a player's card under another name.

What, let me guess: you don't approve of THAT, either?

Sheesh!

I bought an amazing amount of kegs of beer at the ripe old age of 16

Not to my mind. A parenting fail would be if the kid had a fake ID and was going drinking at bars and the parent didn't know about it.
May the cards fall in your favor.
