i am trying to avoid facing same pitboss as much as possible. what are their usual time period for each shift?

Why the PM request? Surely shift change times for a particular shop can't be be that secret.

My reasoning is that, if it is some out of the way casino, they might not know or really expect to have a counter, so don't want to tip them off.

3am to 11am grave
11am to 7pm day
7pm to 3am swing

Plus or minus 1 hour (usually).


Just ask dealer what time they work, if they always work that time, if they like it, blah blah blah now you know.
