In the two NA casinos that I play in, Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun, the new decks come out in prepackaged boxes that have already been shuffled.
I was wondering if I could trust their honesty..
One dealer told me that she used to "wash" the new decks in the back and then package them and that they were intact i.e., all cards are there.
Any players care to comment ?

Packaged pre-shuffled cards are in use by some casinos. We have not allowed this at the casino where I work mainly because we want the players and the eye in the sky to see the cards laid out prior to shuffling and play. I believe the idea of having pre-shuffled cards is mainly to allow for more play time and less time spent shuffling. More hands per hour means more income for the casino. As long as the proper controls are in place there really should be no issue but things can go badly as indicated in the article linked below:

Do not know if the Golden Nugget still uses the pre-shuffled decks but others here could probably tell you.

Not at Mohegan Sun and only the eight deck games at Foxwoods.

Hi BB
Thanks for the reply.
Your comment..."...Not at Mohegan Sun and only the eight deck games at Foxwoods.."
Are you saying that MS doesn't use the pre shuffled box and FW only at eight decks ?
I'm not doubting you. Just thought I saw the pre shuffled box at MS too.."
Perhaps my senior memory is failing me a bit :)
Thanks for the reply.

Hi, LAD. That's correct. The Newport Room at Foxwoods and the high limit pit in the Fox casino are hand shuffled, 6 deck S17 games that don't come pre shuffled. The main floor is 8 decks, H17 and are pre shuffled. It's been a while since I've seen them open new tables but the 8 deck pack has always been sealed, that seal being broken by the floor. At Mohegan Sun 6 separate decks are opened when the cards are changed.
Foxwoods gets it. They are all about hands per hour with pre shuffled cards, very deep penetration and many ASMs. Too bad the high limit rooms are so closely watched.
