Basic strategy? Shoe games? S17? Hit vs 9,10 ace. Stay on everything else.

If it's a double down when two cards, stay when it's 3+ cards.

And there is no chance in hell that you will go to Disneyland and come back with more money than you went with.

You would stand against an ace in a S17, SD game, and you would hit in a shoe game, but it is a very close play. The reason it's a close play is because if the dealer has a 6 under his ace, you already have him beat. Or if the dealer draws to reach a total of soft 17 you already have him beat.
You're not likely to find a S17 SD game unless it's 6:5 (which you shouldn't be playing anyway).

Greasyjohn beat me to it.
3-card Soft-18 is a stand in Stand-17 games. But' I'll usually hit in 8 deckers: must hit in Hit-Soft-17 games, not close at all.

Some people need to reimagine their thinking.

Soft 18 vs. Ace with S17 is a composition-dependent play (if you don't have all the combinations memorized it's best to stand if SD, in DD hit with 2 cards and stand with 3+ cards, and in shoe games always hit).
