So there you go...have at it!

I have a Blackjack pays 2:1 coupon for the Pioneer Club that I've had for a decade. They told me over the phone about 5 years ago that it is good up to table limit. Can you imagine playing hand after hand of table-limit blackjack for an hour and never getting the snapper? Oh the humanity!

What's the table limit? Does the coupon still work (not expired)?
But with Pro's come Con's. Take the following I heard from fellow counters with a Grain of Salt:
Riverside pays 3-2 on their Blackjacks with table minimums ranging from $5 to $25 and don't sweat $5 spreads from 1-10 on shoe games. (Yet flinch when $25 are in action...unless you look like an ol' fool.)
Aquarius is doing their little 6-5 payouts and yet have low heat.
Edgewater and Colorado seem unguarded and have good penetration on their DD games.
Tropicana seems to be okay until you start bet spreading randomly without camo. Pit Bosses seem easily distracted by TV's and anything with curves though.
Pioneer seemed to have gotten more sweaty and will follow you if suspected of counting...okay then.
Golden Nugget does their 6-5 as well with meh penetration...but the "Eye in the Sky" sure likes to phone in a lot. (Is this Deal or No Deal Howie!?!)
Harrah's seems more friendly to the youth...but also does 6-5.
But I still like to hear what other's have to say. Keep em' coming guys!

I don't know what the table limit is now, and the coupon has no expiration date printed on it. That's what intrigued me to call and ask if the coupon was still good and what's the max bet that could be made with the coupon. Answer: It's good. Table limit.
But that was 5 years ago. Perhaps things have changed.
I might play $100 min if the coupon is still good.

Or if their DD is hand shuffled (like most are) you could just ace sequence. I've got to figure that would at least narrow down your range to a limited number of hands/max table bets =P.
Hell, on Double deck, I could even shuffle track an ace or two to a quarter of a deck or less. Play hard on that 'slug'.
Quote: GreasyjohnIf I ever go back to Laughlin, it will be going with me. They used to have SD, H17, 3:2 blackjack at the Pioneer, Laughlin Golden Nugget, Flamingo, Colorado Belle (double down 10 & 11) and the Edgewater. This was 12 years ago. I don't think they have any 3:2 SD in Laughlin now.

Why do you care if it is 3:2 or 6:5 when your coupon pays 2:1. I think it would be better to play a 6:5 game because they may just figure you to be a sucker and not question the use of your coupon because you are playing such a "bad" game.
That was the first time I had ever played at the Pioneer, which has bubble craps as well. The limit was only 200, which is more than I have ever bet in one hand so no biggy there.
The River Palms changed owners around December and I haven't been in there since it re-opened. The way it was, unless you like to walk, valet parking was the way to go, which is ok if you plan to stay awhile. PITA, if just short stopping or checking things out.
The Trop craps rules would almost make a person believe di was possible, they seem to think the players will all be taking shots.

Of course, I played the Casino Royale 6:5 game back when they had the 2:1 coupon. I never said I had to find a 3:2 table to play the coupon off. But if they have no 3:2 games in Laughlin it's only worth going to the Pioneer to get my first blackjack.
Quote: mcallister3200Riverside has several (5+) 3:2 single deck games, Colorado belle and edgewater both have at least one. Pioneer has only shoe games. All 3:2 SD is D10-11 only.
And a wonderful 6:5 game at tropicana. Not clearly posted, either!
Quote: petroglyphLaughlin is driving distance from here and for a couple years I was playing [craps] about weekly +/-. I went 2 weeks ago to the Avi, and the Riverside and my thinking is you need to take your own air supply. The same for the Colorado Belle. It seemed the air could be cut with a knife. I thought a couple years ago the CB was bragging about the new air filtration system.

Liked the "air" reference...but the post is called "Laughlin BLACKJACK". (Hopefully this don't get me banned...by keeping it honest.)

How sweaty are these single deck 3:2 games though? I've got to figure if you spread 1-5 red you'd get scrutiny...

RE: Dave Chappelle, when keeping it real, goes wrong.

Riverside is cool but sweats when green is in action. (Unless you look like an old man with his retirement money and spread only 1-3 units.)
Hmm...Dave Chappelle fan eh? You must be under 30. (Or someone who likes good humor like me!)
Quote: RogerKintDoes anyone know who purchased the Pioneer? All I see is "New Pioneer LLC". Apparently it will be closing at the end of the month.
Well! Since you don't know yet. Let me introduce myself as the new owner. I can't believe how easy it was they just called me and asked me if I was interested in buying the Pioneer just like they did a few years ago when they called and asked me if I was interested to play their tournament. The entry fee was only 5k. NO BRAINER RIGHT! ;)
