Looks like you had an awesome trip, congrats and hope it was fun.
Ty...always fun to win. Wonderin if i should move there, or if I'll be blacklisted in a week. Also, not a fan of 100 degree weather and a homeless problem.
Quote: RSWhy do you keep your BR in a bank? Seems kind of odd, IMO, unless you play infrequently.
Where else would I keep it? I've read some people bring like $100,000 with them to the casino, hiding some of it in their sock, some of in their underwear, etc. I think that's idiotic and will NEVER do it, I'd rather leave a posiive count than get robbed of every dollar I have. Is there another suggestion? If so, how do I empty my account without them raising eyebrows? I don't play everyday, I don't live in Vegas.
I just keep it all cash, but then again, it isn't a significant amount, either. I just figured everybody's BR was all cash, except for those who have monster BRs or need to have proof for a credit line.

If you're talking session BR, that I keep in my wallet pretty much at all timse. Your entire BR is in cash?

I've never deposited anywhere close to 9K. Had an almost 5K deposit just this once, but other than that, as far as cash, my deposits are always under 2K per week. Never 4 weeks of 2K...just a few hundred per week usually. Those smaller, semi-regular deposits are a bit worrisome from a SAR standpoint, but I don't think it's enough to worry about yet. I honestly have been thinking about emptying my account and stashing it. Reading about civil forfeiture and people losing all their money for absolutely no reason, then being unable to get it back because they can't prove they are innocent. The way the system is set up, APing is not a well respected enterprise, nor is it fairly treated.
FWIW, my yard guy deposits a few hundred a week in cash, as many of his customers pay him that way. Lots of folks in the trades, from waitresses to maids to day laborers to whatever, have money come in like that. I just don't see the bank focusing on you for those kinds of amounts. JMHO, though; I've been out of the banking industry since the 1980's. (2 years with a bank, 1 year with Citibank collections).

Yeah. 25-35K. Can fit that much in a coffee cup or 2. Granted, if it was something like 100-200K, I'd probably keep a good chunk in the bank, since most of it I'd never touch, unless I hit a massive down swing. I'd probably keep 50-60K in cash. Well, it really depends on the kinda stuff I'd be doing. If I'm doing massive plays, then I'd keep 75-100K cash. If I'm doing smaller plays, then probably 40-50K in cash.
I just don't like the idea of going to the bank all the time. If there's a play that's about to happen, I want to have plenty of cash on hand (or readily available at home) to play it....not have to go to the bank to take out some amount of money so I can go play.
