Fun fun fun to play. I had my best results on theses, and ran good with the let it ride. 20 40 80 160 320 stop.......ooops split double on both hands.... HANDPAY. This is one of the games I played in Reno and Tahoe where they were giving be the Works thousands in jewelry, airfare, limos, RFB for limited play.

Vegas had some but mostly .25

Colorado Bell and Edgewater had them at .25 with a good cash card and promotions, point competitions.

A few guy crushed them in the midwest for months getting 1% or more in cash back and promotions.

We can thank John Growchowski, the gambling writer for the Chicago Tribune, for the demise of this play. When he found out about the game he notified Williams of their mistake.

That must have been you that crushed the game at Harrah's/Tahoe. They had a dollar denom multi-game console there but the blackjack game was removed from it when I got there.

They had them at Reno Hilton as well, I took many trips back and forth between there and Vegas. They were gone when I arrived on my last trip, by then the news was out. I was usually solo and only hit them 6 hrs a day alternating both locations, its possible someone else jumped on them the week I came back to Vegas.

FYI its no lock unless you're getting significant extras. I've lost on a big advantage

I ran rough at the game at times but overall I did very well. I remember I had to run 1.2 million in action to get the diamond card for the Peppermill casinos in Wendover. I was a $40 winner when they handed me the card. It was a good game for running action for drawing tickets too if there wasn't anything stronger around.

The williams BJ were the best rules.

They still have a few good IGT BJs around, a few places don't have a card ;( They been claiming coming soon for 5 years, I check occasionally

A few places still do have cards :)

About how many games / locations on the strip, just off the strip, or downtown could you list with decent rules?

There's three on the strip that I know of with house edges less than .4%. These are also supposedly countable.

i wish they had a decent VBJ in reno (ones which dont shuffle every round, and deal 4 of 6 decks which u can count using the red 7 method) instead, u have to go to crystal bay or fernley, and the cashback comps isnt too good. nothing like the el cortez was til it got killed. the rules in reno suck. some no surrender, no double any 2, shuffle every round, etc. i wish theyd put one in a small place in the middle of nowhere between here and vegas, or here and wendover, where i could live in the casino forever, in an old room upstairs for next to nothing, like the old river palms or silverado franklin in the winter. but with excellent comps/cashback. i never had the bankroll or the knowledge in the early 2000s. but i sure miss the empty river palms. 5 machines never any players, u ccould move to an empty one alone to play 5 spots.

i've been told decent ones exist in NM but without a car never really could scout around to verify info. plus im still pretty low, with $8000. not as low as when i was under $2000 living for 6 months on the VBJ years ago, but not much of a roll though
