I am new to the site and have a general question about BJ probability. I was playing BJ yesterday with one other player using two decks. I don't know how common this would be, but player 1 got a BJ, I got a BJ, and the dealer ALSO got BJ -- All in the first 6 cards. Does anybody know what the odds of getting 3 back-to-back BJ's would be in the first six cards? Just curious. Thanks much.

Once I was playing a DD game heads-up at the Stratosphere. After the dealer shuffled she dealt us both backjacks twice in a row. So that's four blackjacks in the first eight cards.
Thanks much for your reply. Really appreciate it. A few of us are regulars at this fairly large Reservation casino. What bothers me is the fact that they use a sealed mechanical shuffler for their DD BJ table.

3 Black Jacks in a row should be a prop bet. 1000 to 1. lol

JB is correct, but you might like a more detailed way to do it so you can calculate similar things for yourself:
In Blackjack, there are 8 Aces in two decks and 32 ten-value cards in two decks. The first card dealt can be one or the other for a Blackjack while the second card dealt must be the other, these cards are also removed from the decks at this time and there are 104 total cards in the decks.
((32/104 * 8/103) + (8/104 * 32/103)) * ((31/102 * 7/101) + (7/102 * 31/101)) * ((30/100 * 6/99) + (6/100 * 30/99)) = 0.00007322087
1/0.00007322087 = 13657.3083603 or 1 in 13,657.3083603

Axle da Wolf, remember what William Talman said : I will resist any motion by the defense for a dismissal based on an exhibition of ledger main and fireworks.
Quote: moses32 to be exact. I was playing straight up, basic strategy, single deck with a machine shuffler. It was a long time ago. But the day I decided Basic Strategy was BS.
Oh hey Moses. Was that when you thought you were getting cheated?
Just pulling your tail. ;)
