How many of you folks have played BJ in Australia? Would be interested in your experience (I've already read the Wizard's blog).
The Star in Sydney still has S17 but Crown Melbourne changed to H17 a few years ago unless you're in a high roller room. That said, I still think the latter is a nicer place to have a bet (even if you need to handover a bit of house edge).
Cheers

Apparently the Wizard was in Australia at some point, but I didn't find a blog post, only some pictures. Too long ago probably, or he would have blogged about it. Or is there somewhere at his site he has a report?
He does cover Australian BJ, I assume this is what you mean: https://wizardofodds.com/games/australian-blackjack/
Never been there myself btw. BJ rules don't sound too cool. Anything other than OBO [that Wizard talks about] is purely intolerable wickedness to me, allowing you to double down or whatever then taking those bets, or part of them, too. Ironically when I first started playing BJ I had no idea that dealer checking for BJ was a good thing!

I believe the cards are dealt starting with player to the right of dealer. Right to left. Horses run opposite direction and the water spins clockwise when going down the drain.

The big thing is to ensure you're not playing the 6/5 game. There is a strange rule about what happens if the dealer gets Blackjack - so probably worth asking in the casino you're in what's their rules. I also vaguely remember a Pontoon.

I have only played Pontoon in Australia and that was back when I "thought" I knew about blackjack......turns out I didn't know much at all :)
