Are most of the 6 to 5 Blackjack games in Las Vegas (and Nevada) still dealt from single or double decks? Are any of the 6 to 5 games dealt from Continuous Shuffle Machines (CSMs) yet? Are most of the 6 to 5 games still available at $5 minimums, or have some casinos started putting in $10 minimum 6 to 5 games?
Quote: IbeatyouracesCaesars properties have many 8 deck 6:5 games. The Pussy Cat Dolls pit is the worst.
How stupid are people to play that? I get why people play the single deck. Some think it's better odds. Some pit bosses genuinely believe it's true, the same ones who sometimes give you early surrender opportunities when their shop has offered late surrender for the last 10 years. But 8-decks, 6:5, and a CSM for a superstitious ploppy in the most competitive gambling city in the world? How do they do it?

Very. That's what keeps the lights on on the Strip: player stupidity. The hold is way out of proportion to those tiny house edges. Might as well ask how they can be so stupid as to not understand basic strategy. They don't, despite the fact that basic was revealed to the general public nearly a lifetime ago.
I wish they wouldn't so that. Playing a 6:5 game just encourages them.

Very simple. $5 6/5 BJ $25 3/2 BJ. You have $100 bankroll. You want to play 2 hours.
Plus what are your odds of breaking even.. The $5 table or $25 ?
Quote: IbeatyouracesGreektown Casino here had it at one time and actually got rid of it and went back to 3:2!
A local Indian casino also used to have 6:5 on their games (except for high limit) and not only went back to 3:2, but also made every game in the casino S17. That includes single and double deck, and games with $5 minimums.
The locals play terribly; the house doesn't need bad rules to make money.

If the single-deck game is S17 and 3:2, that means the player probably has an off-the-top advantage (using BS) with that game! (Unless there are other unfavorable rules like restricted doubling to counteract.)

There is not a player advantage off the top. No resplitting, no surrender, and doubling on 10 or 11 only.
Still, it is a very good game.
