However, it was revealed to me at the last minute that in order to qualify me for the tournament I needed to have a 10k line of credit with them - I promptly refused as I do not take lines of credit and headed over to my usual 'haunt'
Played a mid-afternoon mini-session and secured 650

Played a post-dinner shoe and secured 850

Played a mini-session this morning to the tune of plus another 900

Per chaunceyb3's suggestion...
I am reporting that he (and I quote)
Quote: chaunceyb3Walked past some random row of video poker machines, put 100 in, BOOM 2000 handpay. LOL Revel. Ship the sherbert to Herbert!
I replied "nice" to which he replied
Quote: chaunceyb3EvenBob is still not impressed! Chauncey doesn't even exist!
I replied "lol did you post"
To which he replied (and which led to my posting hereon)
Quote: chaunceyb3If I post, I'll owe Mission146 like a million slot machine pulls. You should post so Bob doesn't go through withdrawal LOL.
More throughout the day...
What did he win last month, 3 cars or something? A
cruise? Some BJ tournament? Most people win on every
visit, what's the big deal.
Quote: EvenBobWho wouldn't believe Chauncey, he never loses. Ever.

Lol. Most people only report the wins back to the board, anyway:-)
Chauncey earned those drawing entries somehow!
(My trip is -$3,600 thus far. Run hot at -EV games, run extremely cold at +EV ones.)

He posted the forms for the cars, though...
I forget what else he won. It's easy to win a drawing when you're one of the only people in it, though. I remember six years back when one of the local grocery stores had a drawing for a $50 Gift Certificate: The drawing was scheduled for a Saturday, and you entered simply by having a total purchase of $25, or more, they'd print two receipts, or maybe it was a separate paper...don't remember...anyway, you filled out your name, address and phone number and everyone with any such purchase was entered into the drawing.
I wasn't even going to go shopping that day because I figured, even breaking my order up into six parts (it was Winter, so I could just put the groceries in the car) I'd still only get six entries and probably be worse than 1:100 to win, so it wasn't really worth screwing up my schedule over an expected $0.50. What ended up happening was it snowed like heck that day, so I decided to take advantage of the drawing. I ended up with about six entries, and I don't imagine there were more than twenty entries total, that store was barren when I was there. The only other people that came in, I presume, were people who were seriously short on stuff.
Sat down and proceeded to lose 22 of 25 hands in 2 shoes
Switched tables and played 4 more shoes wherein out of 12 doubles or splits I won 1
I had Ace,Ace twice and the highest denomination card I received was a 4
Switched tables and got 500 back
Trip WAS +2800
Trip NOW +500

Nope, not yet. The night is not over, however. My
power reaches all the way to NJ, if it's not raining..

you are doing it wrong. When calculating how much
money that you have won, you don't count the losing
hands.
Trip is negative 2700
Had 500 up
Split aces
Got a 9 on both
Dealer has 6, 3, 2, 3, 2, 5

Thanks for reveling in my misfortune
You're spoiling it by anticipating my REVELing. Were you
trying to make a pun? Now I'm no longer in a schaden
mood, thanks a lot.
The next shoe reversed about half of that back with the low point being when a passerby decided to toss a $25 chip in midshoe (I asked the pitboss if that was allowed as the games I play at are always no midshoe...she informed me that there were not enough "NO MID SHOE ENTRY" signs available (only at Revel) and thusly, she would have to allow the midshoe bet)
Here is how it then played out:
Midshoe guy gets a 10,6
I get a 7,3
Dealer showing a 9
Midshoe guy waves off a card
I get a 5 on my doubledown for a 15
Dealer has 9,7 and draws an Ace to beat us both
(If midshoe guy hits his 16 as any rational person would, we both end up with 21)
----
I left that table and sat down with an older Italian gentleman at the 100min table
For the first 90% of the shoe he played 1 hand basic strategy...
then all hell broke loose
He started playing 1 to 3 hands with bets as varied as table min to table max within those 2 to 3 hands and stopped hitting all soft hands and any hard 15 to 16
Needless to say I lost 7 hands in a row and was once again down 2700
------
It was getting past my bedtime and I played one last shoe one on one at another table and got 1k back
Trip is now negative 1700

I was in AC on Thursday, October 17th. Saw this signage as I walked down the boardwalk. Apparently, Revel can't afford more "no mid shoe entry" signs OR new billboards...
Trip is negative 1200
than 2700..
trip is negative 1k
Quote: BuzzardDon't be a sissy. You have to bet to WIN !
Bet it all, Ace, don't leave till you're $5K ahead!

I'm assuming this was not in the Ultra Lounge since the interloper was allowed to wager $25. Regardless, the dealer should have been properly trained to nip this in the bud sign or no sign. I don't know why the pit boss couldn't do that.
I see this as a good thing that you can use to your advantage. Find a table with no sign, stand behind it, count and enter only when the count dictates. Playing only positive shoes will help, especially with a small spread.
Quote: EvenBobWhat was the final number, Ace. Ace?
Well - at a certain point I was only down 1k and decided to play...I then ran into the 1/2 shoe from hell
In that 1/2 shoe the dealer got 10, yes 10, blackjacks and the 1700 was gone
I then played again and got 1500 back
The trip total was negative 1200
My year total is +1900 (some solace in that LOL)
