8 decks, penetration 50%, blackjack pays 3 to 2, Stand on Soft 17, double on any two cards total, double after split, split up to three times, no re-split aces, no double on split aces, only one card dealt to split aces, no surrender, dealer does not peek for blackjack and all subsequent bets (split, re-splits, doubles, etc) are lost if dealer have blackjack. House edge 0.545%.

Question 1: - Using Hi-Lo Count, and a spread of 1 to 10, and Illustrious 18, is this game beatable ? If yes, what`s the player edge ?

Question 2: - If this game is beatable, it will still be beatable if to avoid red flags, we will increase our bets only after a win and decrease it only after a lose ? (we will change the bet in the right direction after a push) - If still beatable, what edge we have ?

Sounds like AC with much worse penetration.

50% cut ? I doubt it is beatable.

But the better question is - why bother when there are much more advantageous games out there?

It is online, and theoretically can be done ....... while you sleep :-)

My guess is that a 1-10 spread will barely make this game breakeven. You'll barely see a big count with 50% pen

Again, just my SWAG without any calculations, but adding any camouflage would pretty much wipe out any edge if you're still using the 1-10 spread. Now if you're using a bigger spread like 1-20 or 1-30, maybe you could get away with these moves and still have an edge...but the variance would be huge...

There is software to run these kinds of scenarios. I recommend you buy some of it if you are serious about these kinds of questions.

Thank you AcesAndEights ! Your reply is very valuable to me, as I was looking for rules of thumb and your answers just fit that.

Well, I would be serious on it, but unfortunately I can not be because I would need a bankroll of 10K to 30K and I don`t have it.

Anyway another aspect of it: - anyone thinks that a casino would cheat and offer an unfair game such as removing a couple of face cards and replacing them with 5 and 6s or any other lower cards ? - Or maybe staking 10s and aces in clumps at the deck shuffle ?

That's always the big danger - there have been reports that both of the above have happened before.
