At GoldStrike in Tunica they offer a side bet on the first two cards that you draw totaling 20. If I remember correctly it pays four to one for any 20. It then progresses in payout from there depending on you have the same suit ect. I don't remember the how the payout ratios went. It was a pretty large list. My question is as the count increases, would the odds ever be good enough to play the side bet?
The man setting beside me the last time I was there was betting $50 a hand and dropping $5 a hand on the side bet. He only hit 20 a couple of times. I know playing it all the time the odds wouldn't be that great. But if you only played it on a higher count it looks to me like the odds would increase. Any advice on this?

Sounds like Lucky Ladies http://www.ukcasinotablegames.info/blackjackluckyladies.html which has such a high house edge it seems very unlikely, unless something weird happened with Queen of Hearts (e.g. you knew it was up next).

I tried the link that you posted but it didn't work. I don't know about lucky ladies but this one pays out on all 20's regardless of which cards you have.

Here is the Wizard of Odds link to Lucky Ladies. It is countable and exploitable.

Here is a link to teliot's site that discusses the countablility of the Lucky Ladies bet. I assume it also applies to the SHFL version called "Kings Bounty" I believe:

Thanks so much for the information. The game that I played that had the LL side bet was a six deck game. Following the link above concerning counting it doesn't look like it would be in a counters best interest to count for LL instead of using Hi-Lo. I don't know if they offer the LL on a 2 deck game or not. Seems like the LL count would be good to use on a 2 deck game. Thanks again for all of the info!!

I downloaded Professional Blackjack by Stanford Wong to my kindle app. I'm reading tonight and I come to the chapter about side bets. It has a very short reference to the LL side bet. It says to check out wizardofodds.com for more details on this bet!! Several things that I have read in this book seem more current than when it was written. Do you think the kindle version could be updated??
