My friend was dealt an A, 2 against a dealer K
My friend hit
Ploppy decides to add his $.02 and announce to the table "Bad move, if you have a soft hand the only correct move is to stay or double"
(he would repeatedly say this anytime a soft hand was dealt to anyone, whether or not the dealer had an A or face showing)
Mizz Ploppy would ask for help on every hand - and every hand she had of 14, 15, 16 against a dealer 7, 8, 9, 10 or Ace Mr. Ploppy would tell her to stand.
Finally, the cardinal rule of Ploppyism is to yell at another player when they "take the dealer's bust card" - a nice Indian fellow was playing and he had a 10,2 versus a dealer 3
Indian guy hit and busted and immediately Ploppy laid into him about taking the dealer's bust card (meanwhile, ploppy stayed on his 10 against the dealer 12) - the dealer busted anyway
Oh boy!!!
It's this sort of experience over and over and over that make me wonder why so many people think the house is so evil, immoral, etc. There's simply no need, the ploppies keep the bills paid all by themselves.

lolol
Quote: IbeatyouracesIt is people like this that if I ran a casino, I wouldn't care if counters played.
Exactly! I've said many times that they pay for the counters. Use them to your advantage. I wonged out of a shoe recently and the two frat boys at the table started mouthing off about the flow of the cards etc. I talked them into playing two hands each to finish the shoe. Ethical? Don't know don't care. If they had kept their mouths shut I wouldn't have said a word.
I heart ploppies!
Quote: sodawaterI don't believe anyone could be so stupid as to stay on 10. Though I have seen people stand on soft 12-16 vs dealer 2-6 which is almost as bad.
2 weeks ago i was playing (to) hard on european BJ. I had 2 x €200 bets with 20 and 17 against 10.
The guy at tail splitted his tens and got ace on both (!) Dealer got 3 and 10.
A few hands earlier same guy doubled on soft 19 against 8 and got 2 for total 11. (Double on hard hand only)

I don't care how anyone else plays there hand, and why
should I, it's their money ! But isn't it classic that some
DA who don't even know BS is going to say some DA thing
about 3rd base.
Quote: BuzzardThat's why I like playing 3rd base. I try and politely explain BS, but if the guys a real asshole, then I do my best to take the dealer's bust card and laugh at DA.
???
I didn't say anything but the dealer and a couple of spectators really lit into the guy. Hey, next time he'll help me right? Right? Anyone?
Quote: 1BBI try to refrain from play by play because frankly most people find it boring but I'll share this since it happened yesterday. With a $300 bet out I doubled my ten against the dealer's nine. The other player who had just sat down hit a hard 17 and drew a ten. We both lost to the dealers pat 19.

It's not clear, but I presume the guy had sat down to your right, thereby taking what would have been your 10 on your double down?
Seriously though, these players keep the casino in business for the rest of us. That and anyone who plays slots/roulette...etc.
