I am back in AC for the Columbus day weekend ( yes, yes we can all have a discourse on whether land that people ere living on could technically be "discovered" but, it gives me a 3-day weekend)
Just checked in and had dinner, going to relax, shower and hit the tables - reports to follow!!!
Quote: EvenBobYou never told us how you ended up last weekend.
I did Bob
Quote: aceofspadesI have maybe played a total of three shoes since arriving - been playing 1/2 shoe at a time (and although the count was good, I got up from the tables each time I hit the +500 mark
So, I am at =3150 for the trip
So, basically, I am only 350 away from being back to pre-Labor Day weekend!!! haha
For the year I am +15150

If this bothers you, you can celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving, or the kickoff of the largest Oktoberfest outside of Germany.
Ein Prosit.
I NOT WANT TO SEND MY ACCIDENTALLY ADOPTED SON LOUIS MARTINEZ " THE WHITE MEXICAN" TO AC !

First shoe was uneventful - up and down finished even
Second shoe was uneventful - up and down finished even
Third shoe was destructive:
Dealer hit blackjack first hand;
Second hand I had a 20 - dealer pulled a 5 card 20 to push
Third hand I had 21 - dealer pulled a 4 card 21 to push
More of the same until the end of the shoe down 1k
Fourth shoe brought me back:
5 blackjacks and 2 double downs later I was +50
Trip is +50

A little OT, but the thing that scares me the most - except for negative variance - is when a dealer starts to pull off multiple card 20s and 21s.

Just in time for Halloween
Made it to final table which is guaranteed 500. Dealt 11's on my first three hands and dealt a 3,4 and 6 respectively to be the first one out - so a free 500 for Ye Olde Ace!
Nes c'est pas?
Quote: WongBoThe more multi card twenties, the higher goes the count.
Nes c'est pas?
Right but the count can still be negative. Say the rest of the players get high cards.
I was under the impression this was head to head.

Hey Louis is a nice young man. He was dating my daughter and like working on my car. I have this habit of calling guys in their 20's son. Maybe because I have 3 daughters ? Anyway, my daughter said one day Louis though of me as his dad because I called him son.
Louis is WHITE as the driven snow, bounced thru foster homes, never knew his dad, was adopted by a Mexican family. His adopted Dad died shortly thereafter. I even posted bond for Louis once. Anyway, have not seen him for a few years, have to be careful
what I say around him. He wanted to mow the lawn for me once. I told him the guy across the street borrowed my mower and was late
returning it.
Later that night after Louis left, a visibly shaken neighbor returned the mower and insisted I take $20 for gasoline. Evidently Louis had talked to him. LOL
Louis is 6'2 250lbs, prison tats. His nckname is The white Mexican, because every job interview his parole officer sets up for him, the interviewer usually say, "But you're white " !
Played two shoes after the tournament
-shoe came out with Tens blazing (all for the dealer and players' busting that is)
-second shoe turned around-hit three blackjacks and called it a nice session +600
trip is +1100
Played one shoe - started off horrifically losing the first 4 hands, then hit a BJ, double down, split (8's v. 6 pulled ten on each 8 and dealer turned over an Ace for a 17)
won a few more hands without event and left halfway through the shoe +800
Trip is +2k

I know this is a late post, but THAT'S a destructive shoe?!? I want your variance man...
I've seen too many shoes where I have a 20, dealer gets 21. I have 19, dealer gets or has 20. I have 21, push. There are times where I will ask the dealer to push on a 20. (And the dealer still pulls the 21!) My negative variance is just crazy, and while I don't count (officially), what you just described there, at the amount you play, has been an average session for me lately.

This hurt my French reading eyes.
It's ne est-ce pas, almost always written: n'est-ce pas.
