Some 15 years back I won every chip at the table
including dealers and players sitting in the same spot playing two hands fluctuating bets between the table max and min $500/$50. After eight hours plus or minus, it took them over an hour to get a new rack of chips. Apparently, a replenishing of chips wasn't allowed. They wouldn't release the fifty cent pieces. I was probably obnoxious...a bit.
It turned out to only be a 47k win. Would I have better odds winning the powerball than for this to happen again?

If the rack only had less than $50k and you were betting around $250 a hand at a nearly even game, if your bankroll started high enough you could occasionally wipe out the rack. You won’t occasionally win Powerball.
The casinos I play at don’t ever let the ‘rack’ get anywhere close to empty on even one of the denominations. Surprising there weren’t periodic refills throughout your good run.

They did a couple refills, which was why I was surprised they wouldn't do another since the dealer was only short a 1500 or so. The climax of the seat was when sylvester stalone was promoting his movie expendables 2, I believe. Needless to say, the feat attracted quite a bit of attn and sent the fifty or so waiting for his autograph to my side of the pit. He was so confused based on his expression, lol.

If the table limits were $50 to $1,000 I'd buy-in for $2K on each spot and run each spot up to $20K, I could go higher but those would be my normal win goals. It could be done in less than 150 hands, but that's with 2-3 shoes that break my way on the order of winning 50% of the hands excluding pushes. They come along once in awhile but it could be several thousand hands between them. My local casino doesn't allow more than 2 spots per person. Best thing to do is run along to the cage and get a cashiers check for the win and find another table. The chip replenishment rounds are probably on a schedule if they don't appear ordered by the dealer & pit.
As a new red chip player, I may buy-in with 30-45 red chips, but they don't have many red chips in the tray, and the dealer has to keep paying off my $20 bets by stealing a red chip off the top and giving me a green. There's a word for that, but I prefer to bet $30 and get a red chip and a green chip when I get far enough ahead and I usually have at least 65 red chips before I raise my bet that far. I've had to color up a couple stacks of red chips back to the dealer because he was running low, with 7 players all having 20 or more chips. The dealer may only have 4 to 6 racks of red chips to start with and a refill doesn't seem to bring around more red chips unless they've been cashed in at the cage. The refill is on a schedule. So one player hoarding red chips will be asked to sell some back to the dealer for a bigger chip.
