I'm sure a casino makes you identify who you are, I presume with drivers license after a big win. Here's the question:
Does it matter if you have your fed tax return at your main address but have a drivers license in a different state? Could you use a passport just to identify your person? Do you need a particular ID that actually shows social, so neither of the above really matters? I figured the state income reporting might be the only issue here. Even so, isn't that still just tracked through SSN?
I have a DL in a state that's not my own, for various reasons including laziness (but there are perks)
Would this matter? Thanks.

It depends on your "big" win. If you hit quads in MS Stud and win $10k, you don't have to provide any kind of ID. Table games I believe (in most states) you get taxed on things that are over 300-1 odds AND a certain minimum amount. Thus, if you bet $1, and win $300, you don't get taxed. However if you bet $10, and win $3,000 you do... and must provide identification and your SSN for tax purposes.
For slots, the number is the infamous $1200 amount. Anything over $1200 on slots you're taxed and issued a W2G. This also requires identification/SSN for tax purposes.
In the scenarios where you will get taxed and must provide ID/SSN, you must do so to collect. If you have a passport on you, I think you can use that for identification but then you must also provide them with your SSN. If you have your ID, they'll again ask you for your SSN.
To answer your question more directly, I don't think they really care about the address. They'll write it down for recording purposes, but really they want to use your ID/passport to ensure you are who you say you are (i.e. Identifying you) and then they want your SSN for all the tax purposes.

Playing it correctly means you've already won.

For slot w2gs
DL also social if you hit for the first time there. Address doesn't have to match where you live now. I moved before within Nevada never changed it because I'm lazy.
Cashing out at cage
Players card. They just want to make sure you have no outstanding markets.
Table games
I have no idea. Never hit a 300 to 1 bet.
