DJ is a stud type game where dueces(D) and one joker(J) are wild and you play against the dealer . Basic 3/4 card stud kinda payouts on trips or above (also basic hand v hand bet with dealer ). This game though has a "trips " bet and a two way bad beat bet . The bad beat starts at 15:1 for trips v trips then jumps to 50:1 for straight and goes bigger .

I have won the 50:1 with 15$ up there for a straight v a flush. But tonight as I went over to sit (after making 400 tonight at BJ) I caught a guy get quads v quads for 300:1. With a 10$ bet down .$3000 !!! Of course they had to get everyone Over, call upstairs to rewatch it , count down the decks and verify they were good, then have him sign for taxes , since it was atleast 300:1 AND $600 dollars . It took a while to get the table up and running , so I just watched. Dude got trips a couple more times , but the dealer had nothing for the BB. Then dude got quads AGAIN !!!! Unfortunately the dealer hand nothing.

Quite a night ! I am just glad I got my 400 investment back and got it up to 800 before I called it a night

DJ Wild is very fun. I am surprised I haven't seen it more places yet.

They're probably all hanging back, waiting for the game to prove itself. Wild cards can be hard for people (and dealers) not to make mistakes with forming and paying hands.
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

The only hope would be NYNY. Not sure if they still have it.

SciGames/Bally is promoting it heavily. I would expect to see more of it in coming months. Yes, it's a table game.

At the moment, there are none in Nevada.

However, they will return soon.

DJ Wild is at Pala in Southern California...there was typically one player at the table that would switch out to a new player every so often. Game appeared to be getting tried by players, but wasn't a "draw" yesterday afternoon. Floor was not particularly crowded, but UTH was 4-6 players deep most of the time next door. First time I had seen a $2 progressive in play on UTH, wonder if that is going to become a norm.

I finally got a chance to play this at the Red Dragon in Mountlake Terrace, WA. Got a natural flush in my 3rd or 4th hand. Not much after that. There were 2 other players. The progressive was at $66k. It also had a two-way bad beat side bet. I probably won't be playing it unless I happen to head down there again as I preferrer UTH and Spanish 21.

I find DJ Wild more "fun" than UTH because of the wild cards. I really enjoy the dealer always qualifies rules.

How often does the dealer not qualify in UTH? I know it happens and feels like 1 in 3 or 4 hands and is a negative...the feature that helps in UTH when the dealer doesn't qualify is that you still get paid on your good/4X raise starting hands, so missing out on the Ante 1-1 pay doesn't seem to hurt as much when you are still getting paid on your normally larger raise bet.

I did play DJ Wild at NYNY during G2E I believe. It crushed me quickly, but I only bought in for $100 and with $5 ante and $10 play bets (it is 2X to play, correct?), I didn't really have a sufficient starting bankroll. It was OK, but I am with Miplet in that I prefer UTH in the Poker Variant space.
