In a now-closed loophole, thieves would make multiple withdrawals from casino ATM's linked to Citibank accounts since the bank's computer considered any identical amount withdrawn within sixty seconds to be a duplicate transaction. The thieves gambled heavily enough to be generously comped.

I think that's actually funny...
I've often said that banking is almost useless, as if things worked properly, when you made a payment or purchased something or anything of that nature, the transaction would happen IMMEDIATELY (perhaps a few seconds, but no more than a minute) so that all banking data would be up to the minute live, and wouldn't have to "post" or "process" (as is the case when you make a payment for something or something similar)
I'm sure if you really poked around with all of the major banks you'll find MANY loopholes

Some things never change. back in the late 70's, atm just starting. had a friend who figured our date processing was from 3 to 5 in am. So banks would not check balance and I think limit was $200 withdrawal. He was about $800 to the good, when the bank called.
Bring the money to us before end of business today or we call the FEDS.

I had to lend him $300, and since he was a friend only 5 points vig LOL
